This is the 3rd time she's had this. Usually it lasts for 3 or 4 days. This time it's mostly blood, less diarrhea. I've taken her to two different vets where they've kept her over night to monitor her. They can find nothing wrong with her. Any ideas? Haven't changed her food or anything. Could it be worms? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

The vets would have checked for parasites. they might be able to find the problem with ultrasound.

The irritation from the diarrhea can cause the colon to bleed. I would expect the vets to have run fecals and blood work. Unfortunately there's about a hundred things it could be, maybe giardia if you have any standing water on the property. This is a single-celled organism and can be hard to spot on a normal fecal. Could be a virus, there's several that can cause diarrhea in dogs. Could be a food allergy. Could be that she finds dead things in the yard from time to time.

Causes of bloody diarrhea in dogs are (it can be any of these): Parvoviral infection, Hookworm or Trichuris infection, and use of steroids for prolong period.
If your dachs is regularly vaccinated with the mix vaccine, which usually include Parvo, then this should be excluded as possible cause.
If your dachs has not been dewormed or did your vet examined his feces for parasites? Eggs of hookworms and trichuris can easily be seen in the microscope and this will confirm the presence of these parasites.
If you did not give any steroids, then this is not the problem.
Base on your account, I suspect your dog has parasites and you should ask your vet to have her fecal exam. (Bring a little fecal sample for the exam). Have her dewormed.

You don't actually state how old ur dog is but going by the symptoms I would say ur dog may have stomach or bowel cancer. This is not easily recognizable by vets as it requires many tests ie blood test (sometimes show it up) ultrasound or even exploratory surgery.

I would call a vet in the morning. In the meantime, google the symptoms and see what you can come up with.

prob gastroenteritis...an inflammation of the bowel...some dogs are more prone to it and sometimes it's caused by a virus.....vet can give drugs to calm it down and make the dog feel better...also science diet makes a food for sick stomachs. prescription needed.. turkey and rice or chicken and rice..like chicken soup for dogs.
