Divorce isn't necessarily a sin, even in Catholicism. It should, however, be a LOT harder to get a divorce than it is currently.

You're comparing apples to oranges here. Since you are using the word "sin" I assume you are somewhere alluding to the fact that Christians believe gay marriage is wrong, and you would be right (some don't, but they choose to ignore that part of the Bible). However, we also believe that yes, divorce is wrong. However, banning either of these in law will do no good - gays who want to love each other will love each other whether it is recognized by the law or not, couples who want to divorce will separate whether they are given the permission and legal documentation or not. Choosing to ban or not ban either is not the issue - it's all a moral issue on an individual level based on beliefs. Your argument seems to say that Christians are against gay marriage but all for divorce, and that would be incorrect - we believe both are sinful, but what the law decides to do with them is irrelevent - as I said before, it would make no difference. Many also feel Christians have a "holier than thou" attitude when they deem things such as homosexuality as a sin. Well, the truth is it is a sin on the same level as all others. Lying, cheating, stealing - a sin is a sin is a sin. I am a Christian, and if I told a lie today, I am in no better standing than my homosexual friend. I hope that clears something up as well.
God Bless.

You're trying to compare a break up to a religious practice. Emotions and religion are not the same thing. Marriage obviously leads to sex.. The sex that God created was for a man and a woman, not a man and a man or a woman and a woman. It has nothing to do with whether or not they stay together

Marriage is a religious institution.
Most of the time, homosexuals want to be married in a Christian church ceremony.
God's Word clearly says homosexuality is a sin, the same as lying, murder, theft, etc.
So, why do you homosexuals want to shove your beliefs into our religion? You are trying to force Christianity to change your sinful lifestyle as okay with God, and it isn't.
We Christians would feel the same if a group that lived a lifestyle that was sinful to God, and promoted themselves so they were identified strickly by that sin, tried to force us to accept their lifestyle as okay. So, we reject sin as being okay, not you as people. Don't try forcing us to accept your sins as acceptable.
Go get a civil ceremony marriage. The government may recognize it, but God won't.
And for those who do not want the government to get involved in what goes on in our bedrooms, then stop bringing what you do in your bedrooms as an excuse for demanding more rights that you don't want the government to be involved in.

I thank the whole damn thing is silly myself. What advantage is there to it? I really don't care if you marry or not If they put it to a vote I would vote for you. As far as getting a divorce I believe it is considered a sin but not illegal of course. I for one don't think laws should be determined by religion. I'm not going to be carrying a sign saying let gays marry but I would vote for you.

I am against gay marrige bc God gave the institution of Marriage for MAN and WOMAN. Not 2 men or 2 women. The bible is pretty clear cut when it comes to homosexuality. What does marriages ending in divorce have anything to do with gay marriage? Absoloutley nothing. God allows for divorce in certain situations, such as physical abuse.. God does not like divorce, but he NEVER called divorce an abomination, which he considers homosexulaity to be.

Two wrongs dont make a right, you dont make something better by making something worse.
Heres a typical gay solution to a problem.
Hypothetical so dont have kittens,
Just supposing there were too much naked wemon on the telly and everybody was freaking out,
To a normal person the solution would be simple, dont televise anything with nudie women in it,
To a gay the solution would go like this,,,Put naked men on the box so as to balance thing out,,and drive us all crazy with talk of equality.
And dont dare any poofs and poof lovers start jumping up an down saying nah nah no no thats not how we do things because i,ve been looking at your answers to problems and thats exactly right.

I agree that being able to enter into marriage [between a man and a woman] should be made a bit tougher. But that is the only marriage God recognizes. Gay marriage is about as wrong as an atheist daily prayer.

There are reasonable grounds for divorce. Infidelity, abuse, etc. You're right about it being too common today, but divorce should be an option in extreme cases. Mostly to protect women.

I disapprove of homosexual marriage not because there is anything intrinsically wrong about it, but simply to preserve the language. Civil unions, to establish the same sort of legal framework that married people have, is acceptable.
