Both. It depends on the day. It's never completely empty, but when it's full, it's FULL.
No matter what trauma, bad situation, awful day, etc., I experience, even if it doesn't end the way I may want, I just feel so happy to add it to my experiences in life. I've gotten through to the light at the end of the tunnel many times and I know now that it will always be there, it just depends on whether I want to go there or not.

Am I pouring something into it? Or I am drinking from it? ;)
No one "fills" (the operative word) a glass half full. (Okay, unless requesting only half a cup of coffee, but the waitress has asked you if you want a re-FILL.) When you pour IN, you fill it. When you take OUT, you empty. So, if I am pouring and pause in the task, it is half full. If I am drinking and pause, it is half empty.
And while I am thinking of these things, it is "EAT your cake and HAVE it, too."....... LOL

Depends how you look at it. The way i see it, it could go both ways, if someone just filled it up half ways, then its half full, but if someone drank from it, then its half empty. I cant really choose one.

if i drank the first 1/2, it's 1/2 full, if the 1st 1/2 was never there to begin with, it's 1/2 empty

u know, i think that's kind of a stupid question even though philosophers a long time ago thought of it..
I believe that, in literal terms, if you finish drinking a cup of orange juice, then it just makes more sense to say it's half empty, because your decreasing the original amount.
But if you just poured half a glass of oj, then it makes sense to say it's half full.
I think people who say "i always look at it as half full" or "i always look at it as half empty" are hipocrits because EVERYONE, at some point in their lives, have looked at different issues in both positive and negative ways.

my cup is half empty, becuase i just filled it up and its rapidly depleting. as far as i am concerned the only way to get a cup half full is to fill it up half way. and then screw it because this isn't very important.

Doesn't matter, it is still only half-a-glass. If I order a margarita, I don't want a half of one. I want the whole thing or else, the bartender will have to make a new one.
