Liver is the best, red meat is a close second. Non meat sources that are good are Total and Cream of Wheat cereals, brown rice, potatoes, watermelon, clams and oysters, and blackstrap molasses...If you don't like those foods, you might want to consider getting a good prenatal vitamin...they are usually fortified with iron, and have the advantage of being in single pill form.

Spinich and other green leafy vegetables are good sources of iron. Also, red meat is but trim the fat. Chicken also has some iron. Do an internet search on this and I bet you'll pull up a full
list of foods.

kellog's raisin bran. It has more iron in it than a steak. Why didn't your doctor prescribe/recommend to you iron sulphate pills? You would think that if your iron was low, you would want to get it up as quickly as possible. Ask your doctor, do not take on your own.

Pepitas (roasted & salted are tasty) have 25% of your recommended serving of iron in 1/4 cup (which is one serving).
They're Mexican pumpkin seeds, apparently. I buy them at Trader Joe's.
