Will scratching an itch only make it itch worse or more?

I have a bad itch on my feet and I don't know if I should ocntinue satisfying it by scratching it, or if I am actually doing worse to it.

you should never scratch an itch because when you sratch it that would mean spreading the bacteria and it might get worse. if it really itch try to put it in a hot water bath to kill the germs or apply some ointment that kills fungus.
