It does not really matter which agency you use. With any of them remember one thing. You are entering into a security contract with a private agency, not the local police. When your alarm goes off, it rings at an alarm center somewhere in Texas or Arkansas or where ever the system you purchase is based. I have found an average of a 10 minute delay between the alarm and notification to local police. The police do not always respond unless there is a third party report of a problem at the residence.
Even then, response is sketchy. One last thing, some police agencies will charge you a fee for false alarms.

My neighbor had ADT come to his house and then referred them to us afterwards. Since I was a police officer and familiar with the problems of alarms I asked him some pointed questions about vulnerabilities in their alarms.
The salesman flat out lied to me and created an imaginary crime and said that you would get automatic 5 years in prison if you tampered with their alarms. When he told this whopper to me, I showed them the door.
They have since offered some options to cure this gaping hole in the effectiveness of their alarms, but I never got over the big lie told when they wanted a sale.
Buyer beware is what I would say.

I have ADT and hate it. We never even set it anymore. We've had false fire alarms. They also charge insane fees for breaking the two year contract early.
