Hi there...cats definitely can get hiccups.
There is a muscle that is located between a cats lungs and their abdomen called the diaphragm. Hiccups happen when a diaphragm gets irritated and then spasms. The spasms push an irregular breath up and across the vocal box which produces the hiccup sound.

Yes... my cat gets the hiccups occassionally when he goes under the covers. I just lift the covers up and give him some air. Opening a window also does the trick.

Yes animals can get hiccups.
They generally don't make noises when they do so though. You should probably keep an eye on your cat. Make sure its eating normal, going to the bathroom, playing as usual, etc. If anything has changed, you might want to take it to the vet.
While it was probably nothing, you can never be too sure.

Yes. I have a miniature poodle and she gets the hiccups about once a week. I guess she swallows too fast.

Yes, one of our cats gets hiccups occasionally and she seems startled and somewhat offended when she does.
