I used to drink up to 12 cans a day of Diet Coke. I was seriously addicted! But my New Year's Resolution was to get off caffiene and I'm happy to say that I no longer drink caffinated sodas.

Since discovering that I could get off caffiene, I've been considering all of the other terrible things in soda: the fizzy water (causes osteoperosis) and sugar substitutes (neurotoxins).

But I can't drink high calorie juices and such because I'm also trying to loose weight.

This has left me to drink a lot of water.

So, I'm wondering, is there any alternative to water that doesn't have caffiene, fizzy water, or sugar substitute?

Alternatively, what can you do besides slicing lemons to dress water up.

Thank you.

Personally, I can live w/out everything but the artificial sweetener. Sugar is my worst enemy when it comes to losing weight, yet I like my drinks sweet. Here are the best options I could come up with.

Try adding juice to your water. It will give it flavor w/out adding too much sugar.

Propel is great flavored water with vitamins added.

Crystal light has a lot of good drinks.

And my best option........green tea. It has VERY low caffeine, and lots of health benefits. As far as sweeteners go, you could either use a small amount of natural sugar (it gets into your blood stream slower and is less likely to add pounds) or honey. Honey is a natural antibiotic so it is a very healthy alternative to sugar.

Hope that helped.

Try drinking tea, it has no calories, and can be flavored with lemons as well, but has more taste than water would have with some lemon on the side. Also, try drinking those Crystal Lite things for five calories. You can get those to go packs that you can make in a water bottle, and it'll taste great at the same time. Hmm... what else... well, when you drink fruit juices, put ice cubes in there so you're not drinking as much but it feels like it. Well, hope I helped you. K, buh bye! Have fun being you! =)

I'm on a diet 7-Up kick and I drink water as well. No caffeine in diet 7-Up.. but you still have the fizz that I did not know was bad for you? Also the sugar sub's are in it. Have you considere Diet Rite Pure Zero sodas? They are still fizzy, but no caffeine and they use splenda instead of aspartame... Splenda is considered natural and safer. The comment about Perrier... you really should try that stuff. I love it! I believe it comes in plain, lemon, and lime. My fav. is the lemon. My uncle is a doctor and he said there was some benefit of the natural carbonation found in it.

I like the flavored water that Veryfine makes, with vitams added: H20 Plus. Comes in different flavors like Berry. Veryfine was the first to come out with flavored waters.

Second to that, Tropicana has a line of sugar free non-carbonated drinks: Lemonade, Tropical Punch and Orangeade.

I also like sugar-free Kool Aid and Crystal Light.

The fresh lemons are very tasty in water, but sometimes it's the water itself. The purer the water, the better tasting.

Herbal tea. I personally adore plain water but I've seen many people dress it up with just a splash of fruit juice or whole berries (slightly crushed). Green and white teas don't contain as much caffiene and there are some good decaf teas around now. Good luck-your body will thank you!

I gave up soda years ago. I have an iced tea brewer at home, and have made many delicious types of iced tea. Green tea and ginger teas are good for you. I don't use artificial sweeteners or sugar in my teas, but I keep them around for others who do.

Try to avoid any and all drinks with aspartame or artificial sweeteners in them; they can really mess up your digestive system. Anything that says it is "sugar-free" usually means it has artificial sweeteners. Drinks that say "unsweetened" are the best.

You can use any fruit to change the taste of water--try peach slices, mango slices, lime, lemon, kiwi, strawberry's, etc.
