cross your Gi left over right. Then find the middle of your Obi (belt) and hold it to your waste then wrap both ends of your Obi around your waste crossing in the back and bring the ends to the front. Hold the left side straight out and bring the right side around a bit to the left side then cross the left side under both levels of your obi and pull tight then cross the loose right side over the loose left side and pull tight. Basically it is like a standard knot only the first time you go under both layers...

A trick to stopping your Obi from coming undone so fast when working out. Wash it and twist it up and tie the ends. Leave it for as long as you can until you need to use it. The colour might fade a bit but not much if you use colds water. The softer you can get it the tighter the knot and less chance of it coming undone. It's great for Randori and tournament fighting. But doesn't make it any harder to get undone if you need to.

well Ali being an arab i will not just tell you i will give you a internet address that will show you.

the judo belt is wrapped twice around the body with the center of the belt just below the navel.then a knot is tied in front.the ends should be of equal length at the front when youare finished.
