No, the Koran does NOT justify violence. Many people twist the words to make it sound that everything is a jihad or holy war. Islam is a peacful religion. The truth of the matter is, those that hurt others and are terrorists/extremists, those people will be damned to the bottom of hell for their actions.

People interpret the Koran in any manor that suits them just as with the Bible. If a Muslim has a pure hart and is seeking truth,
He can find a lot of Merritt in the Koran that will encourage him to live a good compassionate life. If an individual is angry and feels
like a victim, then there are passages that can be picked to justify
violence and give that person a sense of being a part of something greater than himself; purpose and meaning to life.
Some pretty terrible things have been done in the name of Christianity over the years. It's hard for me to fathom how a mind
becomes so dark as make a human bomb of his or herself to kill
people they've never met. That takes a lot of brain washing by people who have gained expertise in the field.

May the peace, blessings and mercy of God be upon you

Violence can and only be used in self-defence in a Legal War Situation. Too many people do not understand Islam and start making their own opinions. Jihad has stipulations, extremists are there for the same reason why there are atheists they have been led astray. Please read this religious verdict explaining why Terrorism and Suicide Bombing are NOT ISLAMIC, it was written by a Scholar of Islamic Jurisprudence.

Scholars of Islamic Jurisprudence have labelled the Al-Qaida and their supporters as Criminals

You should read the Qu'ran for yourself and make your own judgment, not just a few out of context verses on a propaganda website.

Peace Be With You

The Quran teaches if you kill one innocent person it is as if you have killed all of man kind.
The Quran only allows violence in self defense and to protect the oppressed. There are extremist for the same reason there was Jim Jones, The KKK, spare the rod spoil the child, childbeaters and Hitler and on and on. There will always be people who use religion to justify their unjust acts. Religion does not cease to make us human. It is not right to judge a religion by the majority of its followers.

If you did you would have to assume that Christianity teaches you to sleep around, wear sexy clothing, Drink beer, do drugs, Party, Drive drunk, get divorced, ect because that is exactly what a huge percentage of the people who would define themselves are doing. YOU CAN NOT JUDGE A RELIGION BY IT'S FOLLOWERS. Followers are only human and will never be a perfect example of the faith. IF you want to know the truth of Islam visit a Masjid. Tell them you are not interested in converting (Muslim believe only Allah (SWT) guides and would not pressure you) Tell them you are just curious. They will tell you the truth about what Islam teaches.

No. Islaam is a religion of peace and submission and stresses the sanctity of human life. A verse in the Quran says (Chapter 5, verse 32), that anyone who saves one life, it is as if he has saved the whole of mankind and anyone who has killed another person except (in lieu of murder or mischief on earth), it is as if he has killed the whole mankind." Islaam condemns all violence which happened in the Crusades, in Spain, in the 2nd world war, or by acts of people like the Rev. Jim Jones, David Koresh, Dr. Baruch Goldstein, or the atrocities committed in Bosnia by the Christian Serbs. Anyone who resorts to violence is not practicing his religion at that time. However, sometimes violence is a human response of oppressed people as in Palestine. There is a lot of terrorism and violence in areas where there is no Muslim presence. For example, in Ireland, South Africa, Latin America, and Sri Lanka. Sometimes violence is due to a struggle between those who have and those who do not have, or between those who are oppressed with those who are oppressors. Unfortunately, the Palestinians who are struggling against oppression are called terrorists but not the armed Israeli settlers when they do the same. As it turned out in the Oklahoma City bombing, sometime Muslims are prematurely blamed even if the terrorism is committed by non-Muslims. God does permit defensive wars against organized oppression. Sometimes some misguided Muslims turn to violence as happens with all religions and countries of the world. To call all Muslims terrorists is completely false. Islaam is a religion of peace, harmony and submission to the laws of God Almighty.

It not only justifies violence, it requires it! Recall the beheadings that horrified the non-Muslim world? They're specifically commanded by the Koran for "infidels". And you can probably guess who the infidels are, can't you?

Absolutely, yes it most certainly does. God had nothing to do with this ridiculous book, and there is no validity to it. God didn't speak of muhammad or the pope, or anyone else who claims to be holy or have written a holy book. I could write a book and start a religion the same as muhammad. Nothing makes him special. God proved who He said He was by resurrecting, not like all these phonies who have or had no power.

Koran is hateful but not that violent. The hadith are where you really find the violence.

There will always be someone from each religion that gets a little over zealous. Like it says in the Quran that they should kill non believers, not all muslims go to these extremes.
But in the OT it also says that death is the punishment for murder, so there are those who kill abortion docs in the name of justice to the 'murder' of the unborn.
