what process should they follow to obtain the green card. Are there any restriction from employer that can stop marriage etc.

There are no restrictions against marrying a US citizen. Remember, however, that marriage by itself does not confer any benefits such as citizenship or permanent residence.

After the marriage is performed, the American spouse must file an I-130 petition and, if the H1B is still working in the US, the American can also file an I-485 request for change of status.

A person with an H1B can marry a US citizen in the United States. They can then become an American citizen after filing the appropriate forms.

There is nobody can stop the marriage. Once they get marry and file the form for status change, i think that is it. He or she would have a permanent resident
