The big bang theory tries to explain the evolution of the universe along with a few other theories. The theory of evolution tries to explain the evolution of life. Two different types of evolution. OO

They're misinformed pricks. Evolution doesn't explain the origins of the universe... it just shows us than every form of life was not created the way it is right now, like the bible claims, but proves it evolved from a very basic organism. I don't know how that is hard to understand for christians. Now Big Bagn Theory does try to explain the creation of the universe. Duhh.

Still like the avatar and I presume you're just playing the devil's advocate here, but you don't know what you're talking about. Cosmology tries to explain the origins of the universe. Evolution tries to explain the origin of the species. And atheism has nothing to do with it. Even cosmologists with a Ph.D. don't rule out the possibility of a creator, but they are at least sane enough to understand that our concept of a creator is pure myth. I mean, for just one example, when god placed the sun and the moon in the sky, thanks to cosmology we now know that that would have had to have been about 9 billion years after the 100 trillion trillion suns and moons he made beforehand. We're just not that special and we should get over it.

I doubt that a single Atheist on the planet is dumb enough to believe that evolution tries to explain the origins of the universe. You either have an acute shortage of brain cells or you are lying.

I think you have it reversed. It is the christians that tend to not understand evolution. Evolution does not even address the origins of the universe but most of the christians I talk to tend to think that it does.

It doesn't, and the lot of us are smart enough to understand that. To explain THAT mystery, we have the Big Bang Theory.
