My stepmom says it's because i have a high-pitched voice and my dad says because he doesn't know me that well...but I was eating dinner the other night and he comes to me...Is he going to take food over fear??

My dogs actually don't like children. I think it's their size. I don't know how old or how tall you are, but that could be it.
If the dog hasn't show any aggression towards you, then YES, just about ANY dog can be bought with food! :-) Like others have said, just try spending a little time with him.

Your stepmom could be right. My dog would not listen to my girlfriend at first because she talked to it like a baby, not in a demanding voice. Your dad is also right, dogs needs to know someone before becoming friendly. If you are not over there much he may not know your spot in the totem pole.

Probably, most dogs will,lol. Your voice could be scaring him, try talking real soft and give him treats, bend down to his level and don't reach out to him untill he trust you.

Just spend more time with him, he just needs to get use to you. My brothers dog doesn't not come near my husband simple cause he hasn't spent any time with him. Sometimes it's just in their nature not to come to people they don't know.
