I'm Canadian, so I can't expect to be unbiased, but I've heard stories of people around the world saying Canadian beer is far superior to American brew. Is this true? I'm just trying to find the facts, folks, that's all. Don't get too upset.

I am Canadian/American, I am a citizen of both countries..I am qualified to judge. Canadian beer is WAY better. WHY? Higher alcohol content than American beer. A superb example? Busweiser. In Canada it has way more percent of alcohol by volume than its American counterpart. The labels are the same, the bottles are the same, the only way you'd know is to look at the alcohol content. Also Canadians have better choices of international beers in most places than you can find in the US.

is the typical canadian beer better, probably!

There are so many microbrewed beers in America, so I am sure there are some you would like better than some Canadian.

However, until a canadian team can bring the cup back to Canada, you will have plenty of time to drown in your beer!

Go Ducks Go!

Once Pronger comes back and Scotty is healed the cup will be here!

Canadian macrobrews and better than American macrobrews.

But America wins hands down in the microbrew category.

As for imports, the selection really depends on your general location; higher income areas will always have a better selection of imported beers than lower income areas, regardless of whether it is in the US or Canada.

Though Canadian beer typically has more alcohol than American, it does not quite taste the same. Due to the larger market, the US has a greater diversity in brands, giving it the edge in the taste area.
Molson may be stronger, but it cannot compete in flavor with a Sam Adams.

They only reason i think canadian beer is better is they start with CLEAN water...since they have so much fresh water...(number 2 in the world? i think i remember reading that) it makes the beer taste better.

also did anyone notice how many beers from Japan are made in canada...they are delicious too!

Obviously you have not been to any great localy owned microbreweries there are some excellent choices out there a lot with high alcohol content, Montana has a good Moosedrool, Wa St. many amber and wheat beers, California has a !@##load of microbreweries locally owned.
