About 6 months ago I started getting stiffnes and pain in my index finger. Then it became extremely painful to touch the joint. That has remained constant and now both of my elbows are the same way. I have a very hard time lifting even light weight items and it is stiff and painful to straighten my arms. It hurts like hell to touch the "funny bone" Now I'm noticing it in my wrists as well. I also wake up with my arms hurting or tingling. I was pretty sure it was carpal til I noticed that touching the spots was sooooo painful.

Anyone have an idea what type of Dr. I should see or what might be going on? Also, I've noticed that my right hip seems sore and stiff alot and I wonder if there's a connection or if I'm just being paranoid.
Thanx.

seeing as the pain is inthe joints with swelling ans tenderness, an that the pain is mirrored on both side of the body... could be rheumatoid arthritis... ask for blood tests to check ANA and RF factors... could be many other autoimmune diseases as well...

I have RA and it started out like yours... first a shoulder and then the jaw.. then the wrists ( braces DO help those).. then the whole body.. i could barely walk and write for a little while til i got the right combo of drugs on board!

go this week!!!!! good luck!

A general practice doctor should be able to help. Someone who specializes in work related medicine might be even better. I think you do have a problem and should seek help immediately. No, you're not being a "sissy". For what you describe, you need to see a doctor. The emergency room at the hospital might be a good first step.

You sound as if you are having symptoms of arthritis. There are doctors who specialize in treating allergies and arthritis as they are both auto-immune diseases. I would look for a specialist as a general m.d. does not treat the disease aggressively enough to put it into remission.
