No.... They are part of different alliances. American Airlines is part of Oneworld, and Air France is part of Skyteam. There is a third alliance called Star Alliance as well. Generally airlines only accept frequent flier miles from other airlines in the same alliance. If you travel a lot like me, you only need to be a member of the frequent flier program of one airline in the same alliance because if you're a member of one, then you can fly any airline in the same alliance and get miles put into that account But anyway, I digress. They all have websites with more info:

www.skyteam.com

They are not a codeshare partner, so you would have to call to see if you can redeem miles with them. If you can it will be more than usual, usually double the amount a normal Award Level ticket would be for that segment. Below is the link to their AAdvantange page with thier partner airlines. But in order to redeem miles on another airline that is not a codeshare partner you'd have to call their Milage desk.

When you try to redeem miles with a non-partner airline, you must be flexible with your travel dates. It can be even more difficult to get an award seat with another non-partner airline.
