I am 22 years old and i completely agree with you. I am an American soldier going on my third combat tour and i am very disappointed in the American public. they worry about drafts and troop strengths and say that they support the troops but how about putting their money where there mouth is. GIVE ME SUPPORT OF THE TANGIBLE KIND. Hold the rope while i climb to the top. Help me up when I fall down. Jump out of the plane with me. All of this bullshit would end a lot sooner if they would either put up or shut up. One strand will break many strands that will stand together will not.

Wow - I bet your glad you got all of that off your chest. You make some very good points.
I suspect some of the people on here are educated just enough to believe that their conclusions and opinions are facts. They don't seem to need, or want, to check out any opposing views or valid facts.
For instance, I just read a very good answer on here - which started out very poorly by assuming the war in Iraq is all about oil - I wonder if they ever asked why we didn't just invade Opec in '74 when their embargo almost destroyed our economy? Or why we didn't just keep Kuwait after we drove the Iraqis out? Or why so many of our conflicts involve countries with oppressed people - and no oil? Or why the United States continues to pay dearly for the oil which, based on the premise of a war for oil, we should be getting bargain prices?
Maybe they might want to reassess their pampered views and reconsider some of their simplistic and errant views.
Rest assured, wisdom does come with age and experience. This present generation will do just fine in the future.

I am against the war because I'm against my government trying to BS me that its about some third world democracy instead of about oil, plain and simple.
I know that I'm entitled - I was born an American, thank you. Thats why I have heat in my house and the ability to buy refrigerated meat from the market, hot showers and safe drinking water coming from my tap.
Its why I have the right and the priveledge to get all uppity about recycling and riding my bike to work.
And while I will agree with you that too many people cannot fathom what it means to "sacrifice" as they did in my fathers age when people gave up gasoline and panty hose in the name of freedom, the fact of the matter is that the ceiling of yesterday is tommarrows floor.
Yes, people my age might "worry" the daylights out of people older than us - but lets allow the blame to be shared.
Weren't the plastics that are clogging this planet the wonder discovery of the late 40's?
Shoot, y'know, I'm willing to take the responsibility of trying to "fix" political, enviormental, and economic issues - but I'll be darned if someone is going to say that its my own doing as well.
I simply wasnt here then...

I'm not a kid but I'll respond to your question.
I dread the day that war is not feared and avoided. I think it is good that the longer we are at war the more we resist continuing. Bravery is not lack of fear. Lack of fear, especially in the face of war, especially when war is a personal reality is lunacy.
Obviously, there are times that military action is required. But, your post seems to imply that everyone should welcome war.
Also, how do inexperienced people test their ideas without expressing them?
It sounds like you are a "children should be seen and not heard" until they're old enough to send overseas type.
This is not all about the kids but it is not all about Halliburton, either.

Don't be so worried. I was an uninformed idiot when I was a stupid youngster. Now that I am educated and experienced, I am a conservative. I sincerely believe that MOST of these idiotic morons that you see posting here will one day see the light. Maybe not all of them, but enough of them. But in the mean time, I will plod on, trying to educate the narrow minded parrots knowing that one day, they will look back and say, "HEY! That guy knew what he was talking about!"

BEFORE you question the intelligence of OTHERS you might want to learn to use your SPELL-CHECK. I cannot tell from your rant whether or not you are left or right but before you call someone else a dumb-*** make sure you check the mirror first.
