Yep! But it's not "staff", it's "staph".... after a group of gram-positive bacteria called Staphylococcus. Staph is everywhere and normally it's not an issue.... but if your immune system is at risk or if you have a cut or some other way it can get into your system, it can cause serious problems.
MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is a big issue in many hospitals and is finding it's way to mainstream areas like schools and kids teams... so monitor any skin infections/cuts to make sure they heal properly.
Best bet is to wash your hands frequently for several minutes at a time and keep your hands away from your nose, mouth and eyes.

Staph is bacteria, treated with antibiotics....and there are 31 variations of it....people don't usually die from a staph infection unless they have a severly compromised immune system and it attacks a major organ etc. New strains are showing up lately tho.
Impetigo is a form of staph, as is folliculitis (skin condition of the hair follicles) and some forms of food poisoning.
Oddly, the most liekly place to get a staph infection? A hospital!!

Yes, it is called staphylococci otherwise known as staph. It is a strain of bacteria that normally affects the skin and can be caused by numerous pathogenic species. Antibiotics are used to treat the infection. If you suspect that you may have this then you need to see a Dr. With the proper medicine you should be fine in no time, however untreated this may and can become dangerous to your health.

yes it is a flesh eating bacterial infection. it is getting harder and harder to treat as antibiotics are becoming less able to kill the bacteria due to doctors prescribing antibiotics when not needed and people not finishing their prescriptions when they are prescribed. staph is short for staphylococcus aureus, you can find more info about it on webmd.
