I have a half sleeve on the top of my right arm... Second to my appendicitis, it was quite possibly the worst pain i have ever felt. It literally felt like the guy was cutting through my skin with a Stanley knife... Although for some strange reason after each painful session i couldn't wait to go back for the next! Strangely addictive! Anybody who says they don't hurt is lying, no matter what their pain threshold. Even the tattooist said that. the outlines hurt more than the shading though :)

It's interesting that you know you want a word and the size yet not which word. A tattoo is something you are going to have forever, so I suggest something that has a deep significance to you. Make sure you give it a lot of thought, and don't go for anything "of the moment" or trendy. It has to be something you won't mind sporting on your body when you're 70.

Well, in order for it to be meaningful to you...asking a bunch of strangers on YA won't help. Also, don't just get a tattoo to get a tattoo. Your definition of what would be "cool" will change. I am getting inked next week and took a whole year to figure out my tattoo and I didn't know what I wanted until I had my daughter....what may be meaningful and "cool" to me may not mean the same to you...

With the world is right now and the way it seems it is going to be for a while why not the word " PEACE" maybe with a heart or a question mark? Or why not something like intials- so people would have to guess what it stands for? Maybe G.P.A.C do you know what that stands for? Give Peace A Chance!

If you have to ask anonymous strangers what you should have permanently inked into your skin to wear for the rest of your life, maybe you don't yet know yourself well enough to be getting a tattoo. Something that seems really cool today might be a huge embarassment to you in 20 years.

duh? its up to you man. people ask me this everyday at work! how would i know what word, of all the words in the world, to describe you! a total stranger! i can't think of a single word to describe myself right off the top of my head and i sure as heck couldn't think of one fast and like it enough to get it tattooed on me. come on! you know yourself better than anyone on this planet. pick a word. any word. shouldn't cost you more than 10 bucks a letter. maybe 30 for the first letter. then 10 for each additional. (some shops do it that way)

well the word should be something that means something to you personally.choose something you know you can look at in like 20 years and not regret it but feel proud of it.don't get a tat just for the fun of it because you will regret it most likely good luck

well since you cant come up with anything meaningful to you personally how about "word". then you can still say you have a word on your arm and its not a name.

How about "Unoriginal".....lol. No seriously that has to be your decision. It would have nothing to do with a bunch of strangers. If you can't figure it out I would wait awhile and it will come to you someday and you will know for sure....;)
