Not the same. Alzheimer's is a physical deterioration of the brain which results in a loss of cognitive abilities. Insanity is an outdated term for certain psychiatric illnesses that feature psychosis, or a loss of touch with reality.

well alzheimers, for back round usually starts to appear in the 40's or 50's. It is a memory impairment, which causes people to forget the later parts of their lives generally, and remember the earlier years as a teen or maybe a little into their twenties.
People with Alzheimers frequently are called 'insane', though this is incorrect, you see, 'insane' has a synonym, which is 'dementia', and dementia is not Alzheimers, but a symptom.
That answer will not help at all I don't think its all jumbled together, sorry, but it makes sense to me.

At this time, insanity can be reversed with treatment. So far, Alzheimer's is not.
And no, they are not the same, although some of the pathological reasons behind these two conditions are quite similar.

they are not even close.. alsimers(spelt wrong) shuts down ur nervous system.. where as insanity is ALL IN YOUR HEAD!!!
