Yes it is normal---imagine she is kinda like on her period- the cramping etc. She wants attention from you because she is in a little discomfort. Try putting a heating pad ON LOW-under her or a hot water bottle, this may help.
She is probably humping due to the natural urge to mate during the "heat" cycle....It may make her less crampy to move that way...
Poor thing she must be miserable- I hope she, and your arm, are back to normal soon.
Best Regards

Leg Humping is dominance related not sexual. She is probably feeling fustrated and insecure at the time and thats why shes humping your leg. She is going to be batty like that through the heat. The blood and the mucous is going to get everywhere!! yummy. Do you plan to breed her? if not get her spayed it alleviates all that behavior and keeps her healthy. If you keep a dog unspayed, and you dont breed her, her cycles can get more frequent during the years, more irregular, longer, and more severe. Also she is suseptible to uterine infections, Mammary cancers, Tumors, and pyrometra wether you breed her or not. Its what you face with an un-spayed female! Just keep perservering, and keep you arms out a reach but my guess is she is going to go for the legs and other body parts soon enough.

In my breed, the Australian shepherd, girls in warmness are allowed with the aid of the breed club to be proven in performance movements. The AKC does no longer enable this, but we consider dogs of both sexes should be manageable and no longer behave like wildmen and wildwomen for the duration of these instances. In Schutzhund females in heat are also allowed to compete, and for the equal rationale. As a heat cycle systems the feminine largely raises the frequency of her marking conduct. Her hormones are telling her to advertise her ahead of time so that the males have time to find her and fight to verify who gets to breed. She also gets very absent minded and loses focal point. You send her over a series of jumps like she's accomplished mostly earlier than, and she appears at you like you might be speaking chinese language. That is especially visible in the course of the bleeding phase of the warmth cycle. She may additionally become flirtatious, even though she's surly with adult males the rest of the time. It's a venture to hold a decided feminine from digging out, jumping a fence, or with ease barging through your closed reveal door. I keep 2 locked doors between the female and any male within the family at all times. Retaining an intact breeding animal is a undertaking, though with just right management techniques you can do so much with them.

yeah it is all normal....not to sound like a male chauvenist but basically think of a what a woman goes through on her period...or may go through and your dog is essentially having the same thing. My dog did the same thing...she is a bull dog. very stubborn and independent. she was very needy and had to sit by me all the time and be pet. And let me tell you, watching a fat bull dog trying to mount a female pit bull is hilarious. but anyway, it was almost like she was needy. always whining and wimpering until she got attention. But it all stopped when she wasnt in heat anymore. Her heat lasted about two weeks what most dogs normally have, usually happens twice a year

yes it is normal she is going through the same things that we do monthly but she is going to try to hump everything she can find to avoid her getting you buy her a stuffed animal it works for my little dog it sound gross but it is better than your arm or leg. Also you can get dog undies for her so she doesnt bleed all over your furniture.
hope this helps
she is going to act more needy since she is in pain and she doesnt know what is going on she just wants you to make her feel better and her body is overloaded with hormones and you know how that can cause mood swings

The humping thing is not about sex. It's about dominance. Don't let her do it to you. It means she is trying to be dominate over you.
Usually a first heat season doen't cause any problems but sometimes they do get moody, kind of like women do.

absolutely normal- even dogs that have been fixed will do that as well...I suggest you get her some dog panties though ...it's her time of the month and it may not be pleasant.
