HDMI is slightly better, the cable carry both audio and video signal. With DVI you'll need a separate audio cable. The PS3 only has HDMI port. If your TV has a DVI port you need to use a HDMI to DVI cable to connect the PS3 to your TV. If your tv has HDMI, all only need a HDMI to HDMI cable. Don't buy theses cables in stores, too expensive, go here http://www.monoprice.com

Since the PS3 only has an HDMI output, you're better off with the HDMI. The advantage of the HDMI is that it contains both video and audio, so you don't need to both with additional audio cables like you would with DVI.

An HDMI cable would be much better simply because it also carries the audio signals which means less a mess of wires. DVI just carries the video signal. There isn't a difference in quality because they are both a digital signal.

Pretty sure that the HDMI cable should work better, and HDMI was made for HD anyway
