I mean the guy was speaking to his father in Heave, it doesn't get much clearer to that. He was the son.

Good question...
But I am not quite sure which group would call themselves Christian if they did not believe that Christ is God.

The easiest way I handled this, is compare what any current group preaches, and compare it to what the original christian belief was prior to this split.
I found that the original Christian Belief and dogma is still alive today, as it was 2000 years ago. It is just a matter of finding this particular church and christian group and doing just a tiny bit of research and history studies...
and the beautiful thing is that you do not have to go at it alone...God will guide you, if you ask Him, for He Himself promised "Ask and you shall receive, Seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened unto you."

But just as a pointer....whilst understand what you are saying about 'speaking to his Father', but He also did say "I and the Father are One...and if you have seen me, then you have seen the Father"
So the anwer is that God is not a Singular entity in different names, nor are they 3 separate Gods, but Rather 3 destinct personas in One Godhead...ie, TRINITY.

As tempted as I am tell you what the absolute truth is, I cannot enforce that upon you, the research and question has to come from you...and I am always around if you ever have any queries, by all means, email me and I am more than happy to help

Christian literally means Christlike. Therefore the group that was not Christlike would be so called in error.

It has already happened, on numerous occasions. You have the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Lutheran Church, the Anglican (Eposcopal) Church, and many others.
