Or would it pursue deeper logical explanations?

an atheist cannot be an "it" because only humans can be atheist. therefore you should say "he/she" or something to that effect. unless you were intentionally trying to be condescending and generally rude. now then, if an atheist saw jesus move mt. st. helens from Washington State to New York then i'm sure any of us would submit. if we saw jesus heal an amputee, then we would be convinced... but so far all we get are "paranormal" experiences that can be logically explained. ask yourself what it would take for you to believe the ramblings of a schizophrenic... then you'll see where we come from.

Well I am agnostic, I do not know if there is a god, but I do not believe there is. Paranormal experiences do not shake my convictions because I do not accept unscientific speculation as to paranormal activity but rather I attempt to find a scientifically verifiable theory as to its cause. I have had paranormal experiences and not once did I even think that it meant proof of god/s, deity, etc.. much less have my stance compromised by a vague assumption based on faith rather than logic. I did pursue many other logical explanations and I still have no clear scientific evidence on which to base an hypothesis. All I have is unproven theories as to its causes but I believe that through scientific research we will solve the riddle, but not through faith in religion. That is why I ascribe to that kind of thinking.. because I like to have facts, evidence, proof before I form an opinion. I dont automatically assume anything.. until it has been tested and proven.

No, as an athiest I would be amazed at the phenomenon that absorbed me and I would probably look for a deeper logical explanation, yes. However, if I could not find one I would be glad that I experienced the paranormal. Remember this...

Just because I'm an athiest does not mean I am not spritual.

Everyone has experiences that could be classed as paranormal. The rationalist and atheist position would be that it is much more likely that we are either mistaken or deceived by our senses than that a real paranormal happening has occurred.

The only thing to do would be to seek confirmatory evidence which has yet to happen in the history of humanity.

If I saw a "ghost", I would still be an Athiest. I would ponder deeper logical explanations.

in case you had a dream in which a healthcare professional confirmed you an x-ray and medical record and gave you the ideas mandatory to maintain your mom, that is staggering. somewhat to procure "pay attention on your doorstep-mom." Why? What did you should do? Did you do something to help her? Did you get her to the healthcare professional because of the dream? Did the dream have any impression on something except grant you with a desirable tale?

if their is reasonable doubt, then the atheist will most likely lean towards thinking that there is a logical, non-magical reason for what may have happened. if there is no reasonable doubt, than yes, someone would feel that they have experienced something magical. What's your point? no one is experiencing anything paranormal.

I don't know that a view can experience anything, really, particularly and adjective without a noun to describe.

I saw a ghost about 20 years ago. I know it was because we were drinking and went looking for one, not because there really was one. Scared the crap out of me when it happened. It is cool how your brain can mess with you.
