Okay, so I was wondering about tongue piercing because I've heard that some people can't get it done? Like their tongue isn't right for it..

I completely agree with the Doc. Remember a Doctor went through years of school to get that doctors degree. A person in any medical field knows much more than any piercer. Think about it. Do not want to read about you in the papers.

That is true. You'll have to ask the piercer.

To "DrDave" below me, what are you quacking about??? A piercing heals with a scar, there is NO BLOOD FLOW through the hole that the SURGICAL GRADE STEEL sits in. Besides that, if a tongue piercing were dangerous, things like dental implants would ALSO be very dangerous. No one would get pins or staples in their bones or skin either...seriously dude, stop impersonating a doctor.

I am begging you to NOT to get your tongue pierced...one of my classmates did a study in Cleveland a few years ago on women who had died after getting their tongue pierced from abscesses in the brain...
you see...the blood from most of the face travels through the tongue before traveling through the brain and then back to the heart to get pumped out again...in the process (the mouth is very filthy with germs...) that some germs are picked up in the process and stay in the brain because the oxygen tension is high, it is warm and very nice to live there and grow....
one of your respondents said to ask the piercer...that is very inappropriate because ANYONE can say that they pierce, but what kind of medical training do they do? they read a book, do some on-line browsing, spend $100 to buy a piercing kit and put out their sign that say we pierce...so...please think of another spot to pierce if YOU HAVE TO HAVE ONE!

ok...I had mine done about5yrs ago and asked lots of questions, you have to have right in the center of your tongue because there are no taste bud there, but if your vein in tongue is going down the center then you can't have it done because that would pose for massive bleeding and other problems
