The B-1B, while its not the fastest of the two it can carry more ordinance to the target and has gone through several upgrades the most as recent as the last gulf war and the computers were upgraded on it. Of course you also have to take into consideration that the TU-160 was designed for a totally different task than the B-1B even though they look alike. The TU-160 is the larger of the two. But the B-1B is the more manuverable if you ever get to watch it fly it handles like a really large fighter jet.

RE:
Tu-160 vs B-1B; which one is the better bomber?

Well, strictly speaking, I think the Tu-160 can no longer fly. Russia and Ukraine, two of the top countries that still operate the Tu-160 has both grounded the aircrafts or at least kept them in their mothballs. The B-1B on the other hand is still active and still continuing to receive funding and to top that, still receiving missions

The B-1B is an awesome plane...needs updated computers though.

neither. the Tu-160 never gained enough of a foothold to amount to much and the B1-B is a maintenance hog.
