No, I do not. Giving without expecting something in return is the greatest feeling ever. Giving with expecting in return is rather selfish to a certain degree.
However, there is a difference between being disappointed in someone and expecting something in return in a selfish way.
If you spend all Saturday, store after store, trying to find the perfect gift for your friend and finally find one and give it to your friend and all your friend does is says "Well, you should have got me that new shirt I wanted." That is okay to be disappointed if a person does not say thank you back.
But, the greatest feeling ever is giving without expecting in return. Our great model of this is Jesus Christ. I give without expecting in return because I find a source of happiness in doing good deeds. If you do something nice for someone and expect something in return, well then you're really not doing something nice at all.

I don't, I feel good knowing that I did something nice for someone. Some selfish people will expect something, but if they have any character at all they won't.

If I expected something back then it would erase the reason for doing something in the first place, we should always try to help others, not for gain, or perhaps just for the gain of the feeling in your heart

I hate to admit it but I DO expect an acknowledgement of some kind. Like just letting me know that my gift was received. I don't necessarily want a thank you and I do NOT want a reciprocation, but I do like to know that something I gave was received.

it depends wat kind of person you are. if you are more of a saint type, and just care for people immensly, then usually, no you don't expect anything in return. but if u are more normal, or if you are someone who isnt all too caring, and all of a sudden u do something very nice, you're gonna expect a reward most likely

there's times when you don't even have time to think about this question of yours. you just do what you need to do.
i've had people come back to say thank you because some good became of my help. do you know what that feels like? ....fabulous!!
