Isn't it clear that the purpose of Islam, is to void Christianity?

2 John 1: 7Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh (from the Spirit), have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

1 John 2: 22Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Savior. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father (God) and the Son (Son-of-God). 23No one who denies the Son (son-of-God) has the Father (God);

What does islam teach???

Qur'an 18:4-5 And warn those who say: Allah has taken to himself a son. They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers. Grievous is the word that comes out of their mouths. They speak nothing but a lie. Quran 4:157-158: That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge,

As a Christian, by acknowledging or agreeing with the muslims, you effectively void your own faith because you deny that Christ has died for you on the crucifix at Calvary. You effectively cease to be Christian. Perhaps you think its no big deal, but from the perspective of God, a man/woman who sides with the Anti-Christs cannot be a follower of God.

And what does Islam say about Jews and Christians?

Qur’an 5:51 “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.”
Bukhari [4:52:177]: Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him!"

The violence comes from islam, and you say someone is trying to bring back the crusades?

You want to get beheaded and thank the islamists for being peaceful to you and your family?

You've got things wrong. The Anti-Christ has not come yet. He will be a very evil man who will have powers so that people will think that he is God. From what I've heard, it's a very big test for mankind, because he'll be very convincing. However, obviously, he's not God, and those who will follow him will be losers (in the hereafter). He's a strong man with one eye (I think one of his eyes is damaged or something).

Allah did not allow his great prophet Jesus (pbuh) to die on the cross. He brought him up to Him. Jesus will come back as well, God-Willing. He will fight and kill the anti-christ (dajjal in Arabic), and of course will be one of the Muslims. He'll pray with us, and break crosses. There's a lot more to it, I'm just not overly knowledgeable in that, but the things I've mentioned I'm certain about.

Hope this clarifies things a bit.

I find it very disrespectful to Muslims for you to quote these verses (or ayas as they are called in the koran) and have them translated in the most incorrect way possible. As the others who have responded and given the true translation, if one truly chooses to understand a religion, the only possible way is to go to the source. The same goes for Muslims who want to get a stronger understanding of christianity, catholicism, judhism, hinduism, etc... Many of the muslims who responded could have very easiliy mentioned that there have been 55,000 REPORTED cases of child molestation in the churces since the 1950's, yes one may say that some of them were calls for attention, so be it. There are probably even more unreported cases. One may also say that let's look at David Kuresh, the christian born terrorist who killed himself, 80 followers and about 13 federal agents. Also, that your own leaders outright insult other religions. Have you ever seen a Sheikh (islamic leader) or an Imam (community leader) ever go on TV saying "Show me one thing that Jesus brought to mankind that wasn't evil?" No, you do not. Because we have more respect for other religions than you do. Did you ever read stories about Muslim Crusades? Oh yeah that was the Christian Crusades. Even the beloved President Bush called the war on Iraq a crusade, (note the sarcasm on beloved). I do believe that Sadam should be killed. If it wasn't for Islam preaching mercy and opposing torture. I would have had saddam hung, than cut down, hung again, than cut down, hung again, than cut down, as many times as you could. The Muslims only fought wars in defense or because they received word that another country was planning to attack them. The Muslims themselves were attacked because people feared their power or because they were, like now, misunderstood (not that they ever threatened with it). Do you ever see Muslims going and saying "how can there be over 200 sects of Christianity?" And that 99% of Christians and Catholics have no idea where their particular sect came from, because if they did they wouldn't follow it. Because there are 2 sects of Islam and they do fight about things. And that is exactly how the Christian and Catholic sects came to be sects. They fought or argued than split. And that the majority of people try and be cute by saying that the Muslims in the world can't even agree on when to celebrate their holidays, how can we respect them. Because they are one day apart. When the Orthodox christians celebrate Christmas January 7th and the rest of the Christians celebrate it Dec 25th. I just find it extremely disrespectful for you to go on misquoting us. Like the beloved Jesus Christ said in defense of Mary Magdolin "LET THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE FREE FROM SIN, CAST THE FIRST STONE"...

it is safer to worship God thinking that he has no son and discover you are wrong, than worshiping him as one with a son and finding out that you are wrong.

I am glad you found the correct verses in the Quran and interpreted it correctly for what they are.

Muslim place Mary at a level much much higher than some of the orthodox Christians do.

Quran has more details about the birth of Jesus than the bible including the FACT that he spoke while an infant to vindicate his mother Mary from the accusation of adultery.

Non of what you said makes me fail ashamed as a Muslim or makes me feel that the cover has been lid up.

Peace be upon you.

Islam is the only ideal word of God. And it continues to be unchanged, so it truly is a few distance a lot less annoying to understand. Christianity has had books removed from the Bible and has had different adjustments from mistranslating for 2000 years. hence there are a tremendous type of variations and it truly is no longer plausible to get a instantly answer.

Addition:
When you quote these Quranic verses 18:4-5 and 4:157-158, you are actually undermining your own argument. These Quranic verses clearly signify that God has protected Christ (peace be upon him) from any harm, similar to when He saved Moses (peace be upon him) from the Pharaoh, Abraham (peace be upon him) from Nimrod, Noah (peace be upon him) from the flood and Muhammad (peace be upon him) from the Arab polytheists. This is perhaps the main reason why these 5 great prophets of God, Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, Abraham, and Noah (peace be upon them all) were granted the honourable title of "Ulul Azmi", i.e. the greatest and most honourable prophets of God, in Islam.

Besides that, this Quranic verse - 5:51 - has been mistranslated for the correct translation should have been, “Believers, take not Jews and Christians as your patrons...” for surely Muslims can befriend non-Muslims as long as they are peaceful and respectful towards Muslims. Patrons mean protectors and this is logical as it's usual and common that Jews would protect Jews, Christians to protect Christians, Hindus to protect Hindus, and so forth. Similarly, God tells Muslims to take Muslims as their protectors.

And please, violence doesn't come from Islam, it comes from misinterpretation and misrepresentation of Islam. You yourself have committed this mistake by believing in a mistranslated verse of the holy Quran. Should the holy Quran be taken literally, by God, there would have been not even a single non-Muslim left in this world for 1.5 billion Muslims could have easily wiped out the rest of the world, i.e. non-Muslims, especially in the past when Muslims empire stretched from the Western border of India to Cordoba in Spain, and when Muslim forces were feared even by Christian Europe.

Also, you must remember that the revelation of the Quranic verses was done gradually, not all at once and each of them tackle specific issues and occasions, especially Quranic verses concerning warfare. Muslims do not demand you to be one of us. We only request that you respect what we believe and how we understand the words of God, i.e. al-Quran.

"The invariable tendency to neglect what the Qur'an meant, or what Muslims thought it meant, or what Muslims thought or did in any given circumstances, necessarily implies that Qur'anic and other Islamic doctrine was presented in a form that would convince Christians; and more and more extravagant forms would stand a chance of acceptance as the distance of the writers and public from the Islamic border increased. It was with very great reluctance that what Muslims said Muslims believed was accepted as what they did believe..." (From Islam and the West: The Making of an Image, by Norman Daniel)

"To you your religion and to me mine" (The Holy Quran)

Peace and Love.

-----------------------------

Original Answer: Yes, Islam practically came to invalidate and abrogate all previous revelations and if you think about it open-mindedly, this is logical considering all factors - originality of scriptures, dogma, and so forth. Up until now, only the holy Quran remains extant in its original form while the Jewish and the Christian scriptures have undergone various and several revisions. Dont get me wrong. I intend no disrespect or sacrilege towards Christians and Jews whom Islam grants the respectful title of "People of the Book".

God alone judges and knows best.

Peace and Love.

Six Beliefs (Muslims must believe):
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Allah - Believe God Almighty is One, Unique, Unlike His Creation, Perfect in every way; Not like or in His Creation

Angels - Made from light, follow Allah's orders perfectly, never make mistakes and are never disobedient (devil is not a fallen angel in Islam).

Books - Torah (Old Testament), Suhoof (Scriptures of prophets), Zabur (Psalms), Enjil (Evangel or New Testament), Quran (Recitation to Muhammad)

Prophets - Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus, Muhammad, and others mentioned in Books, peace be upon them all.

Resurrection - All people, believers and disbelievers will be resurrected for Judgment Day in real flesh and blood bodies to be judged.

Divine Destiny - Allah has complete control of all that happens, both good and evil and He has full knowledge of it all.

I agree. Muhammad and his followers are the anti-christs.

They match the characteristics as described in the bible. Eg. rejection of deity of christ, killing jews, beheading infidels.

Muslims are fools.
