English is not the easiest language to learn. It may appear to be because people all over the world Speak it. English is a common langauge among people of different countries. English became so popular because Britain colonized many non-English Speaking countries. Today, you have to be able to speak English to get a good job. English is also taught in many schools in other countries. There is more of an emphasis on English than on any other language in the world. Even as a native English speaker, some of the words and sentences can be quite difficult. Spanish is a lot more simplistic than English.

English is neither the easiest nor the hardest language to learn. SPEAKING English can be difficult for those who do not have the phonetic experience. Some non-English speakers have trouble with the English "R" sound and "th" sound. All languages have grammar rules, so it's just a matter of learning those rules. It's best to remember that English is a product of Germanic and Latin-based languages, so it can be confusing at times....especially when uneducated and vulgar Americans speak it.

English is not an easy language because it's a mix of other languages and their rules. The vowels vary in pronunciation unlike Spanish which are consistent. The verb forms have many irregularities. The number of words in the lexicon is considerably more than most languages. It would have been much easier if Spain had settled the entire hemisphere.

No, it is not. I have been trying to learn the language for some time and since I do not have the time and opportunity to practice (with a conversation partner) it has been very difficult to me.
A teacher told me once that if I wanted to learn the language and speak almost as good as native speaker, I should practice every day at least 10 hours a day for a period of 8 years! can you believe that? In my case, all my friends and family speak Spanish. It is very hard, I would like to find a conversation partner to finally learn the language.

According to the military, it's the hardest to learn. Look at our phonetics system. I have won spelling bees, and I still have trouble spelling words in English, whereas in Spanish, I have no problem.
phishing vs. fishing: Big difference, but how does a non-English speaker know without looking at the word? For that matter, after learning the "p" sound, how does a learner guess that "ph" sounds like "f"?

no, I think it is one of the harder ones to learn, there are hundreds of exceptions to grammar rules, and spellings. I believe there are 300,000 words in English, much more than many languages. Also there are spelling differences between English in England and English in America , for example in America center is spelled c e n t e r. In England it is spelled c e n t r e. so I think English is difficult

english is one of the hardest languages to learn because it is constantly changing and growing. Plus we have thousands of words that are spelled the same yet mean completely opposite things. Or things that sound the same but are spelled differently.

English is very difficult for most non-speakers to learn. Its grammar and syntax are not like most other languages, with the exception of German.

depends on what language you speak before, german students say it is very easy to learn, while a chinese/romance language speaker may say its very hard. english is my 1st language, but i think spanish is easier if just comparing those two. english is one of the most complicated languages (grammer, etc...).
