put on some lotion on your skin to help the dryness & foundation to cover up the redness

General tips for maintaining healthy skin:

1. Drink LOTS AND LOTS of water (which I now you said you already did.)
2. Get plenty of sleep (at least 8 hours a night)
3. Wash face gently twice a day (once in the morning so you can go out and face the world with a fresh face; once before you go to bed to sweep away all the dirt and oil that built up during the day)
4. Moisturize (at least once a day; I usually do it before bed because I have oily skin and I don't want my face looking shiny when I go out in the morning. Also, make sure you use an oil-free product that is noncomodegenic so it won't clog your pores.)
5. Spot treat acne (use a product such as Clean & Clear Acne
spot treatment which has 2% salicylic acid in it; try to avoid benzoyl peroxide because it can have a very drying effect).
6. Eat right (greasy foods CAN cause acne; doesn't mean you have to eliminate them alltogether. Just cut down on them. And chocolate causing acne is a total myth, which is good news for me because I can't live without it!)
7. Take vitamins (Vitamin E is just one vitamin that is VERY good for your skin; just take one a day and take something like Centrum that has mulitple vitamins in it to cover all the areas,
though.)

Hope this helps!!

First of all, at the age of 13 your hormones are 'raging' so to speak which can cause funny things to happen to your skin. I do not recommend products like ProActive because a lot of times they contain a high alcohol content and can actually strip your skin... causing more redness than before!

Dry, red skin can be caused by the winter months, rosacea, or just dry skin in general. I suggest that you talk with your Dermatologist about which professional cleanser he/she recommends (Neutrogena is not pH balenced and also can be causing the redness!!), I also suggest that you use a toner (not an astringent), & hydrating moisturizer everyday AM/PM. I would also suggest a mask of some sort once a week to rehydrate your skin.

If the redness is caused by rosacea (doubtful at your age, but still a possibilty), spicey foods & caffiene can often times inflame it more. You are doing the right thing drinking lots of water...so keep up the good work! And good luck! :)

you could have something called rosacea-this is usually red around the cheeks mostly, and gets worse when you are stressed, or with temperature changes, certain foods, etc. but if your face is dry and flaky, or in more other areas than your cheeks (ie chin, nose, eyelids) you could have seborrheic dermatitis. if it seems like rosacea, ask your doctor about a creme called finacea. if it seems more like the second, ask about sodium sulfacetamide. also, use a gentle skin cleanser, and a good moisturizer, neutrogena has good ones, also cetaphil. hope this helps. I work in the dermatology field also.

I would try pro activ. My face was red and splotchy and uneven. I've used proactiv for 7 yrs and it took all of that away plus got rid of acne. I still get a few pimples here and there from PMS but it's a great product!

you may have rosacea if the redness does not go away. Take a look at this site and it will tell you more about the condition, and what you can do for it, if thats what it is

I have the same problem, and what I do is put aloe vera gel on it or aloe vera lotion, and that keeps it pretty well contained for the day.
-Good luck
