well im in college and there are a lot of girls there and a lot of potential. the only thing is, is that i dont know what to say when i see them just walkin down the sidewalk or sittin by themselves at the lunch table. would it be wierd if i just sat down at the lunch table with them and started talking?

Just walk up to them and say hi and what ever else comes to mind.
Starting the conversation is over half the battle

How about this approach....you see the gals or gal alone, sitting at a table chatting, and you establish eye contact with one or more, smile genuinely, and ask so they can all hear you,
"Ladies, would you like some nice company?"
and wait for the response!
If one or more says yes, then you gently guide or control the conversations by being the most interesting person
in the world...by....
LISTENING TO THEM!!!!!
YEP! YOU ASK THE QUESTIONS--NAMES, MAJORS, DORMS, INTERESTS---ETC,ETC, AND THEN YOU SIMPLY SMILE, NOD, TAKE MENTAL NOTES AND PAY ATTENTION WITH
EYE CONTACT AS EACH ONE SPEAKS....
THEY WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!!!!
If they ask you the same, answer to the degree you'd want to know about them, but turn it back around to them ASAP.
If it is not positive, then just smile as if they have missed the
best conversation in the world but you are the only one who knows this!
Go on your way and try it again, if it fails, then shame on me for suggesting it!
(A fellow at FSU used this with me MANY years ago, and we ended up dating well past college days!!)
If you have not yet read Dale Carnegie's book on How to WIN Friends and INfluence People.....do so, if you read and do what he says, it will take you every bit as far
(or farther!)
in life as a degree in engineering or international government!!!

hi there no it's not wrong unless they have a jealous boyfriends. just take a deep breath and be your self in a calm and normal way. just as u did in high school say hi say your name and take it from there hey u never know if u get a phone number. and good job going into college best wishes. o also dress to impress neat & clean certain cologne make a girl go wild so buy a good one but do not put on too much ok. chow

There's not a thing wrong with walking up to a girl and saying hi and starting up a conversation. Personally, it makes it easier for me to get along with someone if they just start a conversation about anything, even if it's about the pizza or something. XP

It would be ok if you have a class with them.... or if you're a person that wants to try your luck and pull out lines. You cant just go to them as if you know them or something, basically you gatta play it either like super slick playa or a desperate person looking for a friend. good luck.

yes becasue someone sat w/ me to talk to me even if i dont knoe u it would b kool.and just say hey wats up,im____.im not really a person who would do that cuz im shy but if ur outgoing then do it!u hav nothing to lose!and im only an8th grader so dont get mad at me!

no, it would be u putting urself out there. any real girl would appreciate your efforts. even if she isnt interested in you, it will at least break the ice and make you more comfortable with doing it again.

definitely not weird at all... i always push boldness. i definitely wouldn't start off by saying 'what's your sign?' or anything... but if you casually just start talking, things could go well...
