It's not like I'm converting them or anything. I just say things like, hey so how's your Christmas break, and then they go off ranting about how Jesus is not Christ, and he doesnt fulfill the Messianic prophecies. Are Jews normally taught to hate Jesus and Christianity? That's the impression I get.

That's not true dude. Jewish people respect Christ and teach about Christ too. Its just they believe Christ was a prophet and not the long awaited Messiah. It is true there may be some bitterness amongst us, after all - there's only so many centuries you can put up with the whole "jews killed christ let's get 'em" thing. But for the most part, they don't care, they have nothing against Jesus, and maybe you just never shut the F up about it and they don;t like you.

I am neither Jewish or Christian but I will say in the US you hear a huge amount of talk about religious freedom but the reality is we are bombarded by Christian Images. But it is rare that you see the faith of others even allowed. If we wanted to be Christian we would be. There is no lack of knowledge about Christianity but the truth is Christian's generaly(be clear this is not all but most) know little or nothing about other religions other than what they are told by their preists and preachers.

But if even mention my faith or even act as I should according to my faith, Christians shut down and walk away and avoid me like the plaige.

Point blank when you are ready to listen to why Jews believe as they do without getting defensive they will listen to you. The fact is they know about your faith they are bombarded by it, it is your turn to listen.

I understand you. When I worked in an area whose population was mainly Jewish, I was advised not to wear my Cross Pendent, because it would offend many people, and I would loose my clients. I told him I don't tell you not to wear your Star of David Pendent, it does not offend me. He remained one of my clients, and my clientele was abundant. I am a Hair Dresser, and I ended up on TV / Monday Make-Overs, as well as working with Rock Stars etc.

I will not back down on my Lord Jesus, but I respect other peoples Religion. If others want to rant, it's their problem.

I don't think they are.. I think they are taught Jesus is not the messiah but God is and they may be a little offended.. it is like someone saying something that goes totally against your religion if you are really convicted wouldn't you be a little offended?

What, only Christians are allowed to manufacture an insult where one wasn't intended, spew irrelevant religious dogma to someone who couldn't care less, and then play the persecution card, like it's some "get out of hate" free pass?

Suck it up. Now you know how it feels when you do it to others.

Not true at all. They recognize Jesus as a prophet. They respect that. They don't believe he's the Messiah though. Don't know where your getting your infor from. It's wrong. Very Wrong.

I don't think Jews are taught to hate, but they see themselves as the chosen people, although that was changed when they continued to disobey God....when they expected a saviour, they expected one who would come in with weapons and might etc and slay the enemy..like war and bloodshed stuff...they probably figured that would solve everything..but it would not get rid of sin forever..and therefore it had to be done away with in a different way. So when Jesus came in human form and wanted to show them God..and teach them to live..and show them the way to the Father because the Mosaic law was just rituals etc, the Jewish people could not accept Him as their saviour..well a lot did, but most did not. They are still waiting for their Messiah the first time..they laugh and hate on us because in their eyes the Jews know everything..they know the truth..we are nothing. It is sad. God Bless.

you want the truth? jews are sick and tired of being targeted by christians for conversion. its annoying, irritating, and insulting. we are also tired of condescending comments like "so, jews, when is YOUR messiah going to come?" or "christianity is the fulfillment of judaism" or "jews are just too blind and stubborn to recognize their messiah".

when these things stop, we will stop disliking christianity.

Someone not agreeing with you is not ridiculing you and it is not hatred to deny that Christ is any sort of messiah. Sheesh!

And if they hated you (which I very much doubt) do you not think given their history that they might have a teensy weensy bit of justification....
