If you're an independant student (24+ years old, have a child, married or VA of war) you want your EFC to be 3450 or less. Especially for a Pell Grant. To get this EFC or less, you do have to make less than $10,000 a year if you don't have any children. It is true the more people you have in your household the better chances you get to getting grants. Hope this helps some.

You have to be super poor or have 3 illegitimate kids to get financial aid. They make it so hard!! Have you filled out your FAFSA form? It's the best way to determine what you are eligible for.
