I am looking for a software that could reduce the file size of mp3 songs so that i could fit more songs into the SD card...
Any suggestions?

There is no compression software yet that can reduce the size of an mp3 file without compromising the sound quality.
The only way to do it is by decreasing the bit rate, however, like I said that would considerably lessen the sound quality.
If I may say, the price of SD cards has gone down during the past year so you may want to look at buying one with a larger capacity.
You can get a 1GB card (holds 200 songs) for as low as $20 :
