don't worry, everyone is a sinner, even when they were still in their mother's womb. we are all sinners no matter what we do. i've tried my best to cut down on the sinning but didn't have much sucsess, because we are not perfect, only Jesus and God are perfect. just ask the Lord for forgivness and your sins will be washed away.

Pray & ask God to deliver you from the temptation to sin. Even when you fail, ask God for forgiveness & try again!
There are some people that believe that once you're saved, that no matter what you do, no matter how sinful, you'll still get to Heaven. That is very true, but it does not give us a license to sin. As we try to become more like Christ, we will enjoy the peace He provides and not WANT to sin. If a person is saved & still continues in their old ways without any difference, I would question whether or not he/she really made Jesus Lord in their heart. Sometimes, once saved, it takes a person a little while to completely get rid of all of the old junk, but the difference is that they WANT to get rid of it & keep trying. God Bless.

You said "I know what I must do..." That is the problem. Its an "I" problem. Salvation from sin does not come from works. It is only Jesus Christ that can give you victory over your sin. As long as you keep trying you will fail fail fail. The answer lies in 1 John 1, and don't start with the 9th verse, if you start there you will miss it.

I had a few problems like that.I was really jealous of my friends and I held a bad grudge against my ex husband.I didn't want to have those feelings and asked for forgiveness daily. Then one day I read in the Bible that jealousy is a sin and can keep you from heaven.I prayed again and never felt that way again. As for the other thing, that took a awhile of praying, then one day it was suddenly gone,I knew I had been forgiven and the feelings went away.Pour your heart out to God and let him know you don't want to sin any more, ask for strength, forgiveness, and help.

God knows we are sinners. Because of the fall of man (when Adam & eve sinned, the first time) we are all born sinners. Just because we have accepted Chrits into our lives doesn't mean we become perfect. Just confess your sins to God, and try your hardest to do better. The more you study Gods word (the Bible) & try to live by Christs example, you will find it easier to resist temptation. You will never be perfect while you are on Earth. Try to find hope,in God! One day after the ressurection God will Judge us and then we might be able to serve the Lord in perfection.

You are human and you are entitled to failure just like the rest of us. I sympathize with you. I was in a situation once where I knew what I was doing wrong but was unable to change it. I prayed...tried Christianity, Islam, Budhaism, Wicca, Hinduism...
It was only when I learnt the one and only TRUE religion existed only within my heart....(NO PRIEST< PASTOR< PUNDIT
One thing you must learn to recognize with continued failure is that the only reason you continue to fail (or continue a bad habit) is because the lesson isn;t yet learnt in the manner that God wansts you to.
(it's like a study session...go over and over and over....until it sinks in)
Don't give up!

One of the fruits of the holy spirit is self-control. It is hard to get mastery over, but with God's help, what we are powerless over, he is not. If you know you are sinning and continue to sin, then you may need to ask yourself."do you REALLY want to quit sinning, or is it just an excuse to continue?" I could pray for God to help me to quit a bad habit...say for instance, smoking, but if I did not put the cigarettes down and work in union with the prayer, would God really take my prayer seriously? I don't think so....
The Bible says to repent and turn around, meaning that if we ask for forgiveness from our sins, then we need to turn around and quit sinning. God will forgive our sins, but if we continue we are really showing great disrespect for what Christ did for us.
Read the following verses carefully...
1 John 3:4-8: "Everyone who practices sin is also practicing lawlessness, and so sin is lawlessness. 5 YOU know too that that one was made manifest to take away [our] sins, and there is no sin in him. 6 Everyone remaining in union with him does not practice sin; no one that practices sin has either seen him or come to know him. 7 Little children, let no one mislead YOU; he who carries on righteousness is righteous, just as that one is righteous. 8 He who carries on sin originates with the Devil, because the Devil has been sinning from [the] beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, namely, to break up the works of the Devil.
I hope this helps you to gain the confidence to quit committing the sins that you are concerned about. You have to make the first move...
James 4:8; "Draw close to God, and he will draw close to YOU. Cleanse YOUR hands, YOU sinners, and purify YOUR hearts, YOU indecisive ones.'

hERE ARE SOME PRACTICAL STEPS:
1. yES WE ARE ALL HUMAN AND NO ONE IS PERFECT, BUT gOD DOES NOT WANT YOU TO CCONTNUE TO REPEAT THE SAME SIN OVER AND OVER: HE OWULD LIKE TO TMOVE PAST IT SO:
1. rEAD THE bIBLE AND FIND THOSE SCRIPTURES ABOUT SIN, SUCH AS "rESIST THE dEVIL AND HE WILL FLEA," "wHEN DESIRE IS CONCEIVED, IT GIVES BIRTH TO SIN AND WHEN SIN IS FULL GROWN, IT LEADS TO DEATH."
tHAT IS THE ONE THAT FRIGHTENS ME A BIT AND DETOURS ME FROM SINNING.
bUT, FIND SOME SCRIPTURES AND WRITE THEM AND PUT THEM IN DIFFERENT PLACES IN YOUR HOUSE, CAR ETC SO THAT YOU CAN READ THEM DAILY.
uNDERSTAND THAT gOD WILL NOT TALLOW YOU TO BE TEMPTED MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE.
3. kEEP YOUR HEART FOCUSSED ON THE gOOD THINGS AND i KNOW THAT THIS IS HARD. i DON'T KNOW WHAT SIN THAT IT IS, BUT SIN IS EVERYWHERE. sOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO EMMERCE YOURSELF IN cHRISTIANITY. yOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO SHOWS AND MUSIC, READ IT, WRITE IT, BE AROUND IT... ETC. sO, fOR A WHILE, DON'T BE AROUND THOSE WHO MIGHT CAUSE YOU TO STUMBLE. DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN SITUATIONS WHERE YOU MIGHT BE TEMPTED TO SIN. aN ADULTERER SHOULD NOT GO TO A STRIP CLUB. a MURDERER SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A GUN, ETC.
4. fIND FRIENDS WHO WILL ENCOURAGE YOU, MAYBE EVEN ONES WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS PARTICULAR THING. tHEY CAN HELP. iF YOU BELIEVE THAT DRINKING IS A SIN THEN, DON'T GO WHERE PEOPLE DRINK AND FILL THAT SPACE UP WITH PA OSITIVE THING.
pRAY pRAY pRAY!
yOU WILL GET BETTER AT IT.
cELEBRATE (GOOD CLEAN FUN) YOUR VICTORIES, NO MATTER HOW SMALL.
oNE DAY YOU MAY HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT DSINNING 20TIMES, BUT HELD YOURSELF TO ONLY 2 TIMES.
fEEL THE VICTORY AND STRIVE FOR BETTER TOMORROW.
dON'T BEAT YOURSELF OVER THE FAILURES. dON'T IGNORE THEM. bUT, UNDERSTAND THAT gOD HAS FORGIVENYOU, WHEN YOU ASK HIM TO, AND GO ON AND TRY WITH YOUR HEART NOT TO DO IT AGAIN.
rEPENTANCE DIS NOT SOMETHING YOU TO PASSIFY gOD, IT IS SOMETHING YOU FEEL TO GAIN FORGIVENESS AND IT INTENDS TO MAKE A LIFE LONG CHANGE.

He will help you through every step just dont be luke warm with God he says that the very thing that God hates is when you are luke warm for him. God loves and is always there for you when you need him.

I'm going through the exact same thing at the moment, and it has even managed to take most of my joy, but persist, and learn from why you failed. Pray, adapt and overcome. also understand that it isn't just you, rabbi Shaul (also known as the apostle Paul) had the same problem.
