God does know everything there is no if about it, we can look around with the intellect that he gave us and recognize his great power in all of life. As far as why we pray to him :consider that he leads his people in the way that they should go by his word and in life and the christians input in prayer can do many things ,help people ,aid in the work of teaching the bible, when his people come boldly before his throne and seek his help in time of need,hebrews 4:12-16-Christians pray to God in Jesus name because we want his help and we can draw nearer to him in prayer and we need to grow in Christ and in God. matthew 6:5-15 . If you want to develop a relationship with God,you have to talk to him. HE OFFERS THE BEST THING GOING -ETERNAL LIFE. read the new testament , and notice matthew 11;28-30 .thank you, coming on thru

prayer was created so that we can become closer to god. It isn't just so you can confess what's going on your life but to create a relationship with him. Whenever I am done praying, i get such an inexplicable inner peace that i only get by praying. It's beautiful to be able to share your burdens with someone who can actually help. I tell you, there are no words to describe how it feels. of course, this is only if you pray sincerely and with respect.

Yes, He knows everything and He is Almighty but would you help someone who won't let you help them? You must ask for help to recieve it and He'll be glad to help you. He also likes his children (yes that would be you) to talk to Him every once in a while bacause He loves you. You also pray to express thanks to Him who has given you so much.

The answer is we should have a good relationship with God. If we do not talk with Him often, we will drift away from Him. Imagine if you had a friend and you have not talked to them in three years? Wouldn't you feel apart?

Because he does not force himself on us ever and we must invite him by praying to him. He is right there with us all the time but he must be invited for certain things in our lives. He is always doing things in our lives that we cannot see but we must seek him out and that's just how it is.

Every thought is a prayer. You don't need any middlemen (churches, priests, etc.) to communicate with God.
In my opinion saying prayers out loud is a way to "advertise" to others how righteous and spiritual you want to be seen as (window dressing.) Look at me, I am greater than thou -- I've memorized "broken-record" prayers.

Prayer is the act of communing with the divine.
It is about expressing thanks and sharing what is in your heart.
Your wife or girlfriend already knows that you love them but when you tell them what is in your heart it brings you closer so it is with your god or goddess.
