For me it's reading and playing/listening to music. You could also try to just sit or lay in your bed with pleasant music on, close your eyes, and force all thoughts from your mind but the music. If you don't want to have music on then force all thoughts from your mind by focusing on one single image, like a flame, and pretend that that image is pushing all other thoughts out of your head. Then let your muscles relax and don't allow yourself to think (by focusing on the image or music).

Stretching. It's easy to slip in a few stretches in the morning and before bed. Even during work.

Massage. It's been clinically proven that massage decreases stress.

Meditation. I'm don't mean you have to sit on the floor cross-legged Ohming. Just sit comfortably, breathe deeply, and envision something nice. I nice childhood memory, a big comfy chair or bed, a nice sunny day at the beach, a cozy blanket while watching a rainstorm, whatever suits your fancy.

Excersise. Especially if you notice that you eat when you're stressed. Replacing stress food with excercise is better for your mind and body.

Remember to BREATHE!

Don't let things irritate you. Somethings are going to bother you, and it's hard at first to not be as uptight as you might be now, but you'll be a lot happier and a lot less stressed in the long run.

Spend more time with people you like. Significant others, friends, family, your pet.

Get a hobby. Hobbies can take your mind off of things for at least a little while, so you can relax!

Try to stay out of heavy traffic if you can. Hang around a little late at work or go to the cafe near work for breakfast.

Make sure you're sleeping enough, not too much, and well. If your bed is uncomfortable, try to make it more comfortable, or try getting a new matress all together.

You are waaaay too young to have all this stress. If there are things going on at home like arguments, money problems, divorce, abuse, etc., this could be adding to the normal stress of high school. You have to organize yourself really well in high school so you can keep your school work manageable. You are more responsible now for independent research than in Junior High. It's important to organize yourself now because college can be even more difficult to handle since there is no set schedule for everyone. If you are really having difficulty approach your parents or a trusted adult in the family. Speak to the guidance counselor. You may just be in a transition phase and need some advice. High school is not the end of the world. Just be sure to organize yourself, complete your assignments and plan for college. Don't worry about fitting in with everybody. You are an individual. Make sure you eat a good balanced diet and get good sleep to help you stay focused. Start an exercise routine so you can work the tension out. You'll be fine; just organize, care for yourself and reach out to someone with experience for advice. Good luck.

some people do things like run (almost marathon like), and swim or just work out.

look into some herb teas that will sooth your soul. if you read a bit about it, you'll find so many things will make a tea. some are damn good. i tell you this for after you've completed the strenuous stuff.
