So, why hasn't Jesus come down yet? He obviously states that he was going to come back before some of his disciples died (In Mark 9). Come on, just anything could be good... maybe another manifestation would surely change many minds and convince them that Christianity is the way to go...

2000 years.... and people still believe SOMETHING is going to happen

wait, so I've had many different ideas in which you guys said that jesus is "suppose" to come down? If those ideas really come from the bible then we can safely state that there are numerous contradictions haha.

2 Peter 3:3-9
knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Every religion has to have something to hang their hat on. Most Christians believe in Jesus returns. It really doesn't matter if it every really happens or not. It's a matter of belief. Everybody has them, and they don't even have to make sense. Each person has the right to believe anything they choose whether it's logical or not. You'll never convince a fanatic to believe anything other than what they choose to. The only rule should be not to force one persons or groups belief on others.

What are you talking about. I personally met the man 3 years ago in an alley on Lennox Ave in NYC. He was eating a tuna fish sandwich he had bummed from the owner of Leos Deli on 23rd St. Of course I say this in jest. My point is that the spirit of human kindness that is a part of us all needs to come out of us and once we have found that compassion everything else we should be doing in this lifetime becomes crystal clear. Jesus will never reappear on this planet again rather it is up to mankind to bring this Jesus like spirit back into existence and the rest will fall into place.

2000 years could be a second to God. All Christians are disciples (people who preach their religion), or at least they're supposed to spread the good news. Everybody has not totally abandoned the Christian religion, even though we live in a largely secular society. And yeah, I do think SOMETHING is going to happen.

He can only come when the father tells him. I Think things are shaping up with all the countries wanting to develop nuclear weapons They were talking about it on Larry King tonight. The Bible says a thousands years is a day unto the Lord.

In today's world if somebody came to you and said "I am Jesus and after 2000 years I am back on earth." I think I would grab my feet and run. Nobody would believe him. He would more than likely be locked up and put in a loony farm than someone would believe him. Would you? (her answer)

Jesus will be here when Jesus gets ready. Your time-line matters not, like a drop of water a smoldering hot stone. If you really knew Jesus you would have more respect for his place. (his answer)

Not all the prophecies have happened yet from the Book of Revelation.

Matthew 24:36
(KJ21, 21st Century King James Version)
36But of that day and hour, knoweth no man, no, not the angels of Heaven, but My Father only.
(ESV, English Standard Version)
No One Knows That Day and Hour
36"But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son,[a] but the Father only.

Footnotes:
[a] Matthew 24:36 Some manuscripts omit nor the Son

Don't worry. The nuns behind the Vatican keep putting coins in the meter but they are running short of change since Italy went to the Euro. Those 100 Lire coins are getting harder to find. When they run out and His car is towed, all hell, or should I say heaven, will break loose!

You silly nonbeliever. Jesus was talking about His defeat of death and His resurrection. He will return. Unfortunately, it will be to late for folks to change their minds and be convinced that Christianity is the way to go. But you can do it right now. Just find it in your heart.
