It amazes me how confused people are over what to feed dogs.
Hotdogs = great training treats; just go to any training center and see what they're using
Balogna = same thing -- just don't over do it, or make sure you feed less of normal food if you feed much of this. Go easy on processed foods.
Grapes = no, and no raisins either.... grapes and raisins have been implicated with serious sudden kidney failure in dogs. Other fruits or vegetables are more or less fine as snacks.
Chicken = but of course. I can't comprehend why people only think it's okay to feed chicken if it is leftover scrap or diseased meat with the daylights processed out of it and extruded into kibble.
Bone = Cooked bones should NOT be fed, ever. Raw bones, you need to know your own dog. Raw chicken with bones in is a major part of my dog's diet but if your dog is only used to kibble, s/he will not digest them as well as a dog who is used to raw feeding
As far as all the nonsense about what "human foods" will allegedly make your dog sick, just use common sense. Don't feed greasy, sugary, or fatty foods. If you feed table scraps, feed instead of, not in addition to, the dog's normal meals. If it gives your dog a bad tummy, don't feed that food. Otherwise, don't worry about it. No one would intentionally suggest you feed your children the same overprocessed same meal day in and day out, and it boggles my mind that so many people think that there's something wrong with feeding actual real food to your dog.

If a dogs accidently gets a hotdog or balongna or chicken (without the bone) chances are it won't do any damage but if they get sausage it could do damage without the owner even knowning. Feeding them the foods everyday should not happen however, dog/puppy food is formulated for their bodies. Grapes I have heard does make them sick however some say the same about apples and bananas but when my dog had the runs the Dr said try a little mashed up banana and it worked and when the dog has a hard time pooping we would give it a piece of apple and the dog would be better. Peanutbutter sometimes helps with the runs too but you can only give in small amounts when really needed or when you need to give a dog a pill it is great. Bread is ok too in small amounts and so isn't cheese. Haven't met a dog yet that didnt' like cheese. The meats in baby food jars the vet told me are ok in small amounts too and I have used that for 2 toy poms that i had in the past and they lived longer than the vet thought they would and I think it is because of the baby food, thats all they ever ate, the canned dog food made them sick. Mashed potatoes in small amounts ok as well as baked yams in small amounts. I discussed with the vet different foods because my dog was picky and he ok'd all the things I have said are ok. He did say no chocolate, junk food or sausage or spicy foods.

Certain foods, let alone, human food can make an animal sick. Just like humans can't stomach certain types of food, a dog is similar. Also, humans eat different things every day and, for the most part, a dog eats the same thing day in and day out. When you eat one thing all the time, changing that will cause sickness. So, I would say if you feed your dog table scraps all the time and he doesn't get sick then he should be fine, but if you have a ten year old dog who's been eating the same exact dog food for his whole life, then he may get sick.
The items you mentioned are usually all right for dogs, but be careful with bones; don't give him chicken(too small) or pork chop(they splinter), instead, give him beef bones and pork shank bones. Also, dog's stomachs don't usually do well with dairy products, cheeses, chocolate, etc...

Grapes & raisins can cause kidney issues.Chocolate can cause serious illness even death depending on type of chocolate and amount ingested..onions can cause heinz anemia which is a very serious illness.
Hot Dogs & bologna is fine in moderation...but because of processing should not be given too often.
Turkey, chicken, beef, pork are fine to feed either raw or cooked. They are perfectly safe, will not make a dog sick even if fed raw (raw meat is a natuarl diet for dogs). They were designed to eat it, process the nutrition and digest it with no problems.
Watermelon, apples, berries, pears, cantalope, sweet potato, pumpkin, squash, carrots, green beans are all fine to feed your dog. Many dogs love getting these as treats.
So in summary most"people" foods are fine to give dogs..it won't make them sick, won't cause worms or any such thing as long as it isn't highly spiced, containing onions, grapes, raisins or chocolate.

Dogs are pretty adaptable eaters, but they are basically carnivores, and typically require more protein and fat in their diet than humans. Wieners and bologna are fine. Grapes are OK too as they are mostly water; just don't give too many of those or the dog could get diarrhea (not a pleasant situation, believe me.) You shouldn't give dogs chicken or turkey bones, because they can splinter and cause injury. Feeding dogs starchy foods such as bread will probably make them sick, and can cause tooth decay. Dairy foods will also make them sick as most animals become lactose intolerant after they are weaned.
In any case, human foods should only be used as occasional treats. Dogs also have somewhat different requirements when it comes to vitamins and minerals, so they should be eating regular dog food. As Cagney said, a steady diet of human foods can cause serious problems.
Additionally, it is true that chocolate is poisonous to dogs. This of course depends on the type of chocolate and how much the dog eats. Chocolate is poisonous to many animals that can't metabolize it correctly. In large amounts it causes liver damage, and is toxic to the nervous system, resulting in heart and breathing failure.

Generally it does make them more sick than feeding commercial diet such as kibble and canned food and the main reason is because most pet owners do not really know whether the human food they feed their pets satisfy their nutritional requirements. Sometimes, the human food diet lacks of certain nutrients and sometimes there's too much of a certain nutrient. Both will cause problems in the long term. Furthermore, human food can cause most dogs to develop their usual "dog odour" faster and also can cause bad breath more often depending on the kind of human food you feed.
In commercial diets, they are formulated to nutritionally satisfy your pet. All you need to be careful of is to choose the right brand and quality, read the ingredients and nutritional analysis, choose a holistic commercial diet without artificial preservatives and choose those that use only natural ingredients.

First of all grapes, onions, garlic, spices and chocolate can all be toxic to your dog. Stay away from those.
I have heard people give their dogs pieces (SMALL PIECES) of hotdogs for treats while they are training, especially those that feed the BARF diet.
As for human food in general: stay away from it. It will give them diabetes, make them overweight and encourage them to beg even more than your dog already does.
