It depends on if you want to show them or just have them as a pet, I've seen them for $500 (not AKC registered) and up, way up. If you can, adopt one, you'll pay a lot less, quite a few people get rid of their pei's when they're only a couple of years old, they grow out of the puppy cuteness, all breeds of puppies do. Plus when you adopt, they are spayed/neutered, eyes fixed if it's needed and any other problems are fixed before you take her/him home, usually it's all included in the adoption fee. Occasionally when a puppy mill has been raided, you can get a young puppy, but adult dogs are cool, too, mine was 2 1/2 years old when I got her four years ago and I wouldn't trade her for the world, she's a sweetie.

depending on where you get one from.
you can adopt a rescue shar-pei adult/pup from a rescue listed specifically for Shar-peis, just search shar-pei rescues!

Adopt one, and it will only cost a fraction of what others want.

my neighbor paid $ 5000.00 for her Shar-pei......just a little too expensive for my taste!!!!
