Rapture is taken from biblical phrases that have "caught up" in them.
The question is when are Christians caught up (raptured)?
1 Thes 4:16,17 shall be caught up together (the dead in Christ shall rise first, then those alive that remain (in Christ))... 1 Cor 15:51 the dead shall be raised and those alive will be changed in a twinkle... Matthew 25 The virgins and the oil lamps. To be prepared for the Bridegroom...
2 Cor 12:2 one caught up to the 3rd heaven...
2 Cor 12:4 he was caught up into Paradise...
Rev 12:5 child caught up to be with God...
The 1st resurrection is everyone that is redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. The second death (lake of fire) has no power or threat over them. The rapture is part of the 1st Resurrection and the 1st Resurrection started when Christ raised from the dead and will be finished by the beginning of the Millinnium reign of Christ.
The next resurrection is everyone else and is after the Millinnium Reign of Christ, where everyone else stands before the God at the Great White Throne Judgment. They are judged according to works (conscience & land laws ...) and those whose names aren't found in the books of life are thrown into the lake of fire (2nd death).

Yes, check out 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17. Many people say that the rapture is not mention in the Bible, but this is it.

there isn't really any. most christians just pull a variety of different scriptures together for inference. i guess the thinking is when the hell-scare doesn't keep you in line, the being caught-off-guard thing is supposed to do the trick.
plus it can be used to make science fiction books and sell millions to the christian market.
only one scripture actually uses the word 'rapture' and original text reads with a meaning more similar to being 'in rapture' or 'caught up in the joy'.

The rapture is not a Biblical teaching. It is another case of mis-interpretation. A false teaching...when one gains accurate knowledge of the Scriptures, these fallacies come to light, and are replaced with the truth.
There are a few Scriptures that come to mind about how important it is to search out the truth...searching the Scriptures for understanding and discernment....
2 Corinthians 10:4: "For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things. 5 For we are overturning reasonings and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God; and we are bringing every thought into captivity to make it obedient to the Christ;"
2 Timothy 3:16: "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness,"
2 Timothy 4: 2-5: "preach the word, be at it urgently in favorable season, in troublesome season, reprove, reprimand, exhort, with all long-suffering and [art of] teaching. 3 For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. 5 You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do [the] work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.'
1 John 4:1: " Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.'
Acts 17: 11: " Now the latter were more noble-minded than those in Thes·sa·lo·ni´ca, for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.
John 4:23 & 24: " Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.

There is none.
The term "rapture" is not mentioned in any bible of record.
There is mention of the resurrection of the dead.
Scripture directly requires belief in that resurrection.
It was stated by Jesus, "I will raise him up at the last day."
This resurrection takes place at the last day, and at no
other day.
If someone wishes to believe a rapture, so be it.
But it's not in there.

The rapture will affect the entire world. Judgement day will come those that know Jesus will be saved those that deny him will perish. We are in this world for a short period of time, this is the rehersal. Its that easy.
