reboot and press F8. Should see a page with options - choose safe mode. this should bring up windows eventually. try reinstall video driver then.

- Do you know what files you erased?
- Does the mouse arrow still move? or is it frozen?
- If it does move, and though very very dark, can you see enough to open the Displays control panel (right click on desktop, and scroll to bottom of pop-up menu), and change the resolution slider?

Try booting in safe mode and if successful check your video card drivers. Also from safe mode, if you have an installer disk/CD of some kind that came with your monitor or PC, that you can see if it has a restore/set-up program (careful not to erase/reformat and restore the entire drive) or maybe you can get the video card drivers from there.

Don't know if this will help, but good luck.

Can you restart, go into Safe Mode, and do a system restore to an earlier date?

Sounds like you may need to do a reinstall of Windows.
