For low blood sugar, she should eat several small meals per day. Things like soda, cookies, cakes and candy can give her low blood sugar a boost. But it is better if she eats things like pasta, potatoes and breads. These will stay with her longer and obviously not do harm to her teeth as the aforementioned.

Oatmeal is very good for high cholesterol. Fruits and vegetables are good. Beans and salmon are heart healthy. Lean meat is good, stay away from red meats. Margarines with animal fat are discouraged. Whole grain breads are encouraged in place of white bread. Diary foods should be skim.

I hope this helps. Also, any kind of exercise will benefit high cholesterol.

We assume that this was a fasting test where she did not eat for 12 hours before the test?

Cholesterol is composed of 2 parts. What were the scores for the two parts? What was her Triglyceride level?

Studies indicate that women only have to have a high level of the good chol. to protect them from heart disease (that good chol. is the HDL.) I don't know why doctors are not more aware of this fact.

Men on the other hand have to have a high HDL and a low LDL to be protected from heart disease.

Low blood sugar? First, that's not really a bad thing. It is unlikely that it is low enough to cause a problem. Also, if she was sick it will affect her blood sugar. I would have her get retested and make sure she doesn't have anything other than water to drink before the test.

If you know someone that is diabetic and has a blood tester,,,see if you can use theirs one day and let her test herself at home.

Also, minerals are very important in how the body uses foods. Make sure she is taking a QUALITY multi-vitamin with minerals for Woman's needs.

Finally, if after taking a multivitamin for a couple weeks and checking her blood again after a 12 hr fasting,. (it should be below 100) then and only then if it is very low..(30) then she should start to increase the carbohydrates that she takes in...she will have to offset this by cutting back on fat to keep from gaining weight.

When her blood sugar is low she needs to stay away from cookies, candies and pop- anything with tons of sugar in it. They may raise it right away but she'll crash afterwards. Crackers and cheese are the best for low blood sugar as well as lots of fruits and vegetables. Eating several small meals throughout the day is recommended but I've found that if I snack on fruits or vegetables or even something like a granola bar that helps to keep my blood sugar regulated. Plus they are a lot easier to keep on hand than small meals.
I don't know a whole lot about cholesterol but oatmeal is supposed to help lower it.
