SNAKES Your stupid for even putting anything about pitbulls.. They are already got a bad rep!! I have a pitbull and they are not mean!!! They are only taught what you teach them... FIGHTING DOGS are taught to be fighting dogs... they dont kill people I cant believe I even open this and said anything.. But I agree with your mom Id rather have a fighting dog than a snake and Im not afraid of a snake!!!!!!!

ball pythons only get to be around 6 feet long. I haven't ever heard of one of them killing a person, we're too big for them to eat. The only ones that could do that are tropical snakes that get up to 100 pounds and 15 feet or longer. ANacondas and a couple of other snakes. Since snakes that big are rare, and anyone who keeps one should know not to handle them without at least one other person around to be safe, I'd say deaths from those snakes are rare.
Dogs do kill, usually children. Not just pit bulls, altho those are the ones that we tend to hear about most in the news... Lots of dogs bite, usually small dogs are more intimidated and more likely to bite than a larger dog. I've been around pits and rottweilers and other large dogs for most of my life. I'd trust one of them over a cocker spaniel or even smaller dog any day.

Ball pythons cant kill people. They are too small they average about 38-48 INCHES in length as an adult. About the only pet Python that can kill a person is the Burmese Python or the Boa Constrictor as size goes, im sure there are a couple other more exotic types of Pythons out there strong enough but they have to be much bigger than the Ball Python. They probably wont EAT you but they can kill you if they get there coils around your neck. Unfortunately Pitt Bulls are going to win on the over all death toll, but only because there are more Pitt Bulls than there are Pythons.
ADDITION: To be fair to Pitt Bulls, the national study on dog attacks in America... the is not any particular breed of dog that has killed more than the other. MIXED breed dogs, or one of unknown pedigree are the majority that have made up for KILLER DOGS, the next is the Bulldog family, not just Pitt Bull dogs. Study for 2005 Insurance claims for United States of America states the the highest number of dog BITES came from Labradors and Lab mixtures. The highest number of deaths came from the Bulldog and Bulldog Mixes. (includes: American Pitt Bull Terrier, Stadfordshire Terrier, Mastiffs, Bulldogs old english and American, Cane Corso, and Presa Canarios)

How can u compare the two when there totally different species, pits are not had dog's and it is unfair to judge them, there only as bad as their owners. Snakes have no choice u can't train a snake, it's in there DNA makeup....just not a fair comparison at all....
As a side note approximately 7 people a year die from fatality related to deer.

good god when will people quite blaming the pits it's not their fault its the owners fault they need to target mix breeds and labradors and by the way it's so childish and completely wrong to try to compare a snake to any breed of dog cause snakes cant be trained i'll be glad when they target some other breed of dog this time i hope they really get their target right never the less lets see how everyone reacts to another breed being targeted and lets see how it makes the people pointing fingers at the pits feel when theyre breed it targeted

I believe that pit bulls probably kill more, mostly children since they are the most vulnerable. That being said, I think that the primary problem isn't with the dog, it's the owner. You get some body who wants a good "guard" dog and either makes the dog mean or lets it get away with bad behavior, that is usually the root cause of most maulings and death. Pythons probably get more press because it is kind of unusual.

i hear more bad things about pit bulls than snakes. actually snakes are more placid creatures and the only way that they would bite is if someone has not fed them ,or they smell food on you, like if you have been handling a mouse or any kind of rodent, or they think that they are in danger. but most pitbulls are bread to attck and/ or protect. i am not puting down the breed but that is the dog is known for its agressiveness.

Well, Ball Pythons only get to about 3-5 feet long. So....I'm gonna go with Pits. Maybe you meant Burmese Python?

Why don't you people lighten up about pit bulls...its the owners, not the dogs.

Pitbulls have bad enough reputations and do not need stupid questions such as this asked that further stigmatize the breeds rep.
