I do the same thing. once every little while is okay, but as soon as it becomes a weekly thing or as soon as you purge right after you eat it is when it becomes overeating or depending on the severity-bulimic. Make yourself look forward to something to eat afterward, like a little Hershey's kiss, and save LOTS of room for that. Or think about how you will feel after your binge, good or guilty. Try to imagine your long term feelings about it and not just "overeat in the moment" and think, oh, I'll make up for it tomorrow. It takes alot of self-control, but if I can do, I think that you can too. All my luck.

Yes it is considered an eating disorder. I have been Anorexic for 13 years and I have been through it all. But I have been in groups with all types of eating disorders and over eating is considered one as well. All eating disorders are a thought process, an obsession or something that has more control over you than it.

I eat at all you can eat buffets almost every day of the week for lunch. I don't overeat.....just eat so I fee a little better than full. I work out every other day so I am not gaining any weight.
So long as you are burning calories overeating is fine.

I used to tell a lot of people that I had a binge-eating disorder but now that I have an exercise and eating routine in place, I believe I was just full of crap. It was just an excuse to me. I was allowed to overeat because I had a "disorder" but it was just because I loved to eat. You can google binge-eating disorder and see what it comes up with.
