reflex is there or not. training may help direct the action better, but no training will give you something you do not have.
I dont believe you can train your reflex.
but wait, before you complain! I havent finished writing yet!:
you can instead give better tools for your natural reflex to use effective to a particular situation. its not like bulking out your muscle in the gym.
sorry Bushido, but for the first time I must differ here. its like balance, you have it or not.
however, #1) I do agree that martial training may give you the awareness of applicable reactions to specific threats though, so maybe you will gain a predictive understanding of your surroundings through repetition of scenarios. and act before you need to react.
this pre-emptive action would help mask your lack of reflex reaction.
and #2) another factor which I see most is the lack of confidence. if this is your block to good reflex then MA will help you, not through boosting reflex, but through reducing inhibition and second guessing. your firm belief in your actions/reactions will seemingly make you faster, when its a bit of mind balance, and the fear is reduced and the abilities of contact are optimized.
dont mean to be so verbose, people, but this is how I see it. you cant fix a genetically fixed problem, but you can adapt to live around the problem through strengthening other areas.

PS>i know it doesn't give you fast reflexes etc,but thats not what the question says?or am i reading it wrong?it does say helps increase?

If you like kicking then take taekwondo.
If you like punching then take boxing.
If you like wrestling then take wrestling.
If you like grab moves and throws then take judo.
Also I think ninjitsu is like stealth moves and the like.
Any of them will improve your reaction time if you practice enough. ***You need to memorize what to look for and how to react to each situation in order to improve your reaction time.***

Not technically. What MA does is improve your perception time. That is the time it takes you to see something happening & understand what it is & what you should do about it.
All MA will do this.
