For much of their history they did exactly that.

It is the same thing that stops anyone from doing those things...it goes against a sane person's humanness. Christians are instructed to hold a higher standard...for example, the old testament instructs us that committing adultery is a sin...but Jesus took it further...he says that now, as believers, it is the sin of adultery to merely look at someone with lust in your heart. Christians don't think they can do anything they want and just ask for forgiveness...there is much more to it than that for anyone...Christian or not. Our survival as a species demands a certain behavior code...in some people it is absent and they commit these crimes, some people change, some don't. Some even use their religion (not just Christians) as an excuse to do horrible things. In the end God judges all, Christians and others.

Let me clear this up for you.
1. Forgiveness was provided at the cross.
2. Humans may receive this gift ...... or not.
3. Along with this gift comes many other incredible perts.
4. As a result of this, a person is not concerned with this
abberent type of behavior.
5. A human can identify themselves as something, but it doesn't
make it true.
6. You should be able to tell if a person is a believer....by his or
her behavior (or fruit).
If you go to a tree that you are told is an apple tree, and see that this tree is producing peaches; then it is not an apple tree.

Because the actions you describe would grieve the Holy Spirit which dwells within us, and who is tasked with bringing us towards holiness in our lives. Real Christians don't like the feeling they get when they do that. Yes, we do sin. Sometimes a lot, and sometimes grievously. But at heart, grieving the Holy Spirit affects us, and makes us want to stop. The Scriptures tell us to be holy, because God is holy, and to do otherwise is a mockery of what Jesus did for us on the Cross.
Secondly, the laws of man are still in effect, and a person is liable to be arrested, or killed if he were to go on such a rampage.
If arrested, he would do a lot ot time in prison, and who wants that?
Thirdly, God disciplines His children, whom He loves. The punishing hand of God would be upon such a Christian, and he would be sorry, very soon.

A lot.
"do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God" 1 Peter 2:16
"Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law" Romans 3:31
"You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness" Matthew 23:27
God does not like hypocrisy. Better to sin, not knowing anything about Christ, than to know Christ and keep sinning. There's a scripture saying that essentially but I'm not sure where......... I think.

A lot of people think there are some kind of scales God uses in weighing what good we do against what bad we do. They believe they can plead their case before God and win on the basis of what they did or didn't do. Some think, as you indicate, that all one has to do is say, oh, sorry.... and that makes everything ok. We cannot make up the rules about how God has decided to accept or reject us in the end. Our "logic" will be faulty because God has made it very clear that He is the One who will reveal who He is and why we are not able to make it to heaven on our own. The good things we do are the natural following of the new life we receive when we come to faith in Jesus. Atheists as well as anyone else can certainly do good works, but only faith in Jesus saves us for eternity. Only God can judge the intent of the heart of a person who says they repent. God is perfect in His judgments as well as His mercy. For me, I trust that whatever God decides will be absolutely right and absolutely just.

Why do all your questions involve what us Christians think, say , or do if you think we're wrong all the time? I would not want an answer from someone who didn't know squat.
YOUR ANSWER, .Nothing, but if they are Christians as they say, they wouldn't. They believe it is wrong to sin, and all of the above would be a sin against GOD, so therefore, if they DO, they are NOT Christians. Only wannabees.
Jesus is my savior and I admit it freely. I also don't hide behind a fake pic and or fake identity. NO REASON, because I am NOT ashamed to say what I think.

Wow. An amazing question to some christian fundies. Since they are saying that if we are all animals then whats to stop us to start acting like animals. Saying that the only reason we do things that help others is because we didn't evolve from animals. That god must have instilled good morals in us. Good question.

Nothing - except the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
See Matthew 22:36-40. (or don't)
When these two commandments are observed then there is no desire to rape, pillage, steal, kill......

The judicial system and Law enforcers..provided conscience failed ....fear of hell works with the gullible but how many christian criminals are stopped by that ;it's too much like locks that keep the honest from dishonesty....some believe they can do anything with impunity which is why once again we have police. still there is no cure for the criminal mind or we wouldn't have crime.
peace out
