I am fed up with those emails myself. How can someone tell me whether or not I'll be blessed or experience a miracle ONLY if I pass on some silly email?! God never told us that we had to prove our faith by passing on annoying emails!

No. I dont really believe that. It actually gets on my nerves alittle because it says "If you love God, you will pass this to your friends." You can love God without sending an e-mail. I mean, theres really nothing wrong with them. It kind of tells you that theres still alot of christians out there. I think im just blabbing. lol. but no, i dont believe that passing an e-mail is a measure of faith, but it could help spread the word.

If it is anything like a chain letter from the old snail mail days....when it was "bad luck" not to pass the letter on.
Kinda remember it as young person thing....not kids...older teens.
The religious people ....who knows what they are thinking.
If they are thinking it is bad luck not to pass it on then they are running afoul of theology.
But I don't do chain mails.
My sister sends me one once in a blue moon.(not the religious kind...the half a**ed political ones about stuff that happened about 18 months ago)
I sure don't pass it on.
The people I know would think I had lost my mind.
note: but back in the old days...chain letters were work. You had to copy the letter by hand and then mail them out.
No copiers...no Internet....no computers.
Six transistor A.M radio was hot.
I am an agnostic on a good day
Note: Are they getting your e mail through myspace or something? The only chain mails I get are from my sister. I have never gotten the religious ones. And they would get noted as SPAM.

I don't have a belief in god but when I get them and I think it has a good message in it to inspire anyone I will forward it. Right now, most folks on my email list believe in god so I know it won't offend them. One lost a grandson so I sent her what a believer
sent me that said "If god can get you to it god can get you thru it".

they are rediculous. I've repeadetly asked my family to stop sending chain emails...and for some reason they refuse to stop!
GOD ISN'T GOING TO LOVE ME LESS BECAUSE I DIDN'T FORWARD ON AN EMAIL TO 10 OF MY FRIENDS! I'M NOT GOING TO LOSE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, I'M NOT GOING TO BE UGLY FOR 10 YEARS...ETC...
you get the point

Obviously, there are people out there who have worked out that if a person is gullible enough to believe in God, then there's a fair chance you can make money from them somehow.

E-mail harvesting. Gathering of valid e-mail addresses so spammers can sent masses of junk mail.
Often these e-mails have 'beacons' which enable the original sender to track their movements.
The more chain mails you forward the more spam you'll receive.

I agree. Even though I'm a Christian myself whenever I see a Christian chain letter I cannot hit the "Delete" button fast enough.

Chain emails and religion both have the same target audience: gullible folk.
