does everything really happen for a reason? or is it just by chance or coincidence. (derived from mel gibson, signs)

In the eyes of man, it may *seem* like things happen by chance. But in reality, there are no coincidences.

It may seem to us to be a coincidence, but now a what I like to call a Sim's view. A view from the top of the world!

Everything happens for a reason, it's called causality; cause and effect. That doesn't mean that everything happens for a good reason or that there is a driving force behind everything that happens.

Also, there are a lot of things you'll find to be coincidental simply because you are looking for them to be.

Everything happens for a reason, but it often takes years for us humans to figure out what that reason is. But it's a gift from God to know and just take comfort in the fact that wherever the wind blows... He knows what He's doing!

I believe we have both. Just because a rock can be formed, does not mean that it done on the first chance. It may have taken several chances(variables) to go thru until the rock had a (reason) to form.

coincidence is as artificial concept used to explain our disbelief when something that seems unlikely occurs. However, with billions of 'things' happening every second, we can be certain that coincidence will happen occassionally.

I believe that everything happens is for a reason, whether it was a good or bad thing, hence our lives have a purpose. Or you can think that life has no design and everthing happens is by trial and error.

Zuhailles told me in answer to one of my questions that indeed there's no such thing as coincidences. I however think he is full of shlt as there are millions of coincidences in everybody's life every day.

I think things happen for a reason. We might not see it or think about it at the time, but sometimes it will come to us later. You know, when we think about the would have, should have, could haves....
