why do we let our us soliders hurt dogs?

go to the humane society sight.our us soliders keep shooting a dog and laughting.the poor dog wascrippled to begin with.im aa animal lover and this is horrible.

I still say that i hope the dept of defense gets a hold of this video and these two misfits get what is coming to them and the least of which is a court martial .I think that because they wear a uniform they should not be treated any different than anyone else commiting animal abuse . Call it what it is . ANIMAL ABUSE!!! They are a disgrace to the uniform . I grew up in a military family dad was in the marine corp . I have been all over the world . In Europe animals are treated in restaraunts anywhere they want to go strays are even treated better than we treat them in the us. I am so angry at this . I hope that I hear of them being dishonrably discharged or court martialed . That would make my day !!!!

I don't know why those particular soldiers shot that dog, but I want to illustrate something that is a reality in times of war.

During the Vietnam War, the United States troops were serving along with the South Vietnamese troops. A method that the North Vietnamese troops employed to commit tactical acts against the Americans was to use small children to run up to the unsuspecting soldiers with an active hand grenade attached to them. The child would be able to roam unhindered wherever they were instructed to and the grenade would go off, killing or injuring whomever was close enough.

Soldiers in Iraq have to be very cautious with animals because the terrorists and guerrillas are sophisticated enough to rig animals in ways that are similar to how those Vietnamese children were.

I could not bring myself to watch the video. I knew it would be too hard to view. I read the description on several web sites. I don't get why people think it's OKAY that the soldiers did this...Why? Because it's "just a dog"? Because the soldiers under stress due to being in combat? We don't make excuses for civilians who abuse animals here in the U.S. just because they have experienced trauma. Our troops are supposed to be setting an example for the rest of the world - that cruelty and hatred in any form - is unacceptable. War crimes - committed against humans OR animals - should not be tolerated. I am not unsympathetic to the plight of the soldiers. I don't support the war. But there is no excuse or reason for grown men to torture a defenseless animal with a spinal deformity that is too crippled to run away or defend itself. And then to laugh about what they were doing? It's sick. Really. I added the link below. It will supposedly bring you to the actual video. Again, I did not watch it because I couldn't bring myself to do it.

It is horrible when anyone hurts another living thing. Some animals act worse than other animals and go around harming harmless animals out of pure sport. Who knows why but they have no respect for life. Unfortunatly i have seen many US soldiers killing innocent animals not necessarily out of sport but they do seem to enjoy it for whatever reason and it just breaks my heart. Of course they also go crazy on fellow humans as well.

Im gonna get voted down but if i was there id shoot one of the soliders up his big nasty a*s and see how much he likes it. im also an animal lover call me a cry babby but if i were there id weep for hours or id run up before they shoot the dog to save it"s live." i wouldnt care if people thought i was crazy, im an animal lover espacially a dog lover and i belive that in some way dogs and humans are related, its just like shooting an old man in a retirement home, ITS WRONG!!!!!!!!

Those are some sick puppies, no soldier in his or her right mind would wound a dog unless it was attacking, and even then we wouldn't wound it and laugh. A clean kill if necessary. I don't know where you got this information, but most of the soldiers I know love dogs and would never hurt one for entertainment.

I'm not with everyone else on this. Thats disgusting behaviour, shooting and innocent animal is completely different to shooting someone in war (which i'm against, but what can you do?). THey should be ashamed of themselves, they're sick if they find this behaviour amusing, are they really the type of people that you want representing your country at war?

In first place soldiers have to be soldiers, they are brutal and they have to keep their mind and body strong to kill human being. So what is a dog.
Go to China and Korea people are slaughtering dogs daily for their meal, visit the dog farm. Wonder why they are not barking. If you go on like that soon you will stand for world peace.
